My amp is mounted up under the parcel shelf and the factory boot light was in the way.

The store that did the install for me tapped into the factory wiring - much like suggested above - and mounted an LED strip.

It's a cheepy and not very bright - plus it's tucked away behind the amp and not in a great spot - but it does the job at night at least.

It is easier to just wire in LED's into the boot to get more light.

The boot light is in a bad spot and if the boot is more then half full it is hard to see much.

I fitted 2 strips of blue LED's in my boot. Both are on the roof of the boot that can not be seen from the rear of the car with the boot open. I dont like to have the light where it shines in your eyes. 1 in the front and the other in the rear. The blue give a nice light.

Has anyone here wired up LEDs in a sportsback boot? Would it it best to just mount them to the side like the current boot light, or somewhere else?

thanks heaps guys, i ended up taking the clips off and putting in a 6 smd festoon but il definitely have to look into getting an LED bar for an even distribution of light

I'm so going to put in a LED strip.
Great idea guys.

Ryan, did you have to put in any thing into the circuit when you wired in the LED strip to the factory loom? or was it as simple as soldering in the LED strip?
