I find this mod really interesting. It seems like a lot of work and very risky as you could very easily damage a circuit board.

I wander if we could find the circuit board manufacturer for Mitsubishi and see if they could do a group for personal coloured circuit boards?

Is there any brand name on the circuit boards to give us an idea where to look? My guess would be they are made in Asia some where and probably quite cheap.

ok boys and girls, or is it men and ladies, either way

i have done some more i took out the old defuser and put in a clear one (its just some clear plexi glass/ acrylic what ever you wanna call it) but obviously its a little on the bright side, im still chasing down some blue plexi but so far no luck, i have tried blue contact, failed DO NOT DO IT it makes everything blurry, i am currently going to try cut some blue plastic to see if this works better but at the current time havnt had a chance....

let me know what you all think, will hopefully get my second batch of LED's monday so i can finish the steering wheel and will post more back here

Just an update. I did my climate control knobs and they work great. I didnt know i had it in me to do it but i managed to figure it out.

I will upload the picture later when it gets dark.

Next is the steering wheel, dash buttons/switches, stereo buttons.
I dont know 100% how to take the steering wheel apart but i will just wing it and hope i dont break anything! I know how to take the bag out safely so it should be easy sailing from there.

I will keep you posted as i do these things and i will the add photos during the night upon completion.

Another update!
Ive done the steering wheel buttons, the dash buttons, the stereo buttons and ive done the climate control.

Now the only thing i need to finish it off is to change the perspex like you are planning and change the center dash screen LEDs to blue too (but im dreading the recalibration)

I did a "how to change the climate control LEDs" with pictures and description to help people achieve what we have with our cars :)

Sorry to post multiple times but here is ANOTHER update,

I have now changed the perspex to blue to match the rest of the dash (minus the screen between the gauges which is still red for the time being)

HERE IS THE BEFORE AND AFTER
ImageImage

It looks a hell of a lot better in person than in this dodgy iphone 3GS picture

I ended up getting it from ebay from a UK seller. It was only about $7 delivered or something close to that for an A5 piece 3mm thick and i could have made 3 from it if i was able to cut more precisely but using a dremel isnt the most accurate tool.

I actually used two pieces to get the right darkness for my liking but you could easily use just one thickness (its just a little brighter that way)

Here is the link for the ebay item: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180998614072 you will need to select the 7703 Blue

By the way, cutting it is a pain in the ass but worth it if you take your time and be precise with it :)

Hope this helps people
