I find the mirrors on my CJ a bit flimsy when compared to the ones on my 22yo coupe, he plastic just feels too light but the difference is in how they are made. Older ones tend to be a one piece design for the main shell where the CJ uses a separate bit for the colored piece, black for the rest.

But back to these mirrors, so on the 09 VRX they are manual folding, there is no electric switch inside the car so wiring is needed for this but does it mean passing wires from the car through to the door?

Folding mirrors which close/open when locking or unlocking the car give it a cool factor in the parking lot IMO. $350 is not a bad price and I guess any auto electrician can do the work if needed?

As I said I put not only mirrors but power windows in the coupe, did most of the work myself so this can't be much harder?

I think you can also get the extra wiring as a kit off ebay.

I got a price of $180US plus $50US shipping from the Facebook link, not sure if that's for 1 or 2 mirrors. But at that price it's about $290AU when converted. Now if that's for each it's getting close to $600 and not a huge saving over the ones from Mitsy.

I'm sure any new mirrors like these won't last long at the wreckers, I did contact one for a price, should get a reply tomorrow.

Not sure where this upgrade would rank on my 'must do' list, I'd love a touch screen in my dash and EVO style rear, then there's lower springs. Things are starting to add up

If it's $290 for the pair then that moves it up my mods list.
Thanks for the local link, checking it out now!

Edit - that link didn't work.
"Sorry, this content isn't available right now"

I did do another search and found this.

scroll down a couple of posts and the mirrors are there, listed for $179US so about $230AU shipped. If that is the price I'd get them now even if I have to sit on them before getting them wired for my 09VRX.

I'd like them in the same color but if not I can paint mine or maybe get them done in a carbon fiber look finish.

Do they come in a carbon fiber look finish?

G'day.... Anyone knows how do I swap the side mirrors from LHD to RHD?

I have LHD side mirror assemblies... and RHD ones.

This isn't like buying a left hand hammer is it?

What do you mean, what are you trying to do?

As far as I know the mirrors would be the same no matter if the cars is RHD or LHD, but maybe I'm wrong?

Someone on the forums has fitted LHD mirrors to their RHD Lancer, They angle differently, if you look down on your car the Left one is kicked in towards the car more, and the Right Hand one on LHD vehicles..

In this thread is all you need to know... maybe....

I stand corrected, you wouldn't think its needed anymore and they'd just design mirror motors with enough movement to work on either LHD or RHD cars.

So just re-read this thread from the start, just wondering with the upgrade is it a plug in solution or more too it.

Is it posible to do the folding mirrors without the indicators? Yes I know I'd need a different control switch on the drivers do to the manual power mirror fold, mine doesn't have that.

Looking on eBay its really hard to find the power folding mirrors, let along the newer ones with indicators, just wondering if there is a big difference in wiring and maybe my 09 VRX can have folding mirrors but without indicators?

EDIT - I checked the fuse box under the dash and I think I'm missing the wiring needed?
