DRLs are great, I'm looking into options for my car.

- built into the head lights
- replace the foglights type (expensive)
- shorter DRLs that work with the fog lights, (cheaper from china)
- generic ones fitted some where on the front of the car

Which type do you have?

Mine are DRLs that work independent from the rest of the system so I can have fogs on if I want to. But mine were not cheap.

I've seen the ones that replace the fogs around $400 on eBay but apparently it's plug in a play so a simple DIY install.

Like I said there are some cheap ($125) ones from China, shorter and the are designed to fit along side the fogs but are shorter.

I wouldn't mind the type that are built into the headlight as long as they can be wired so they come on automatically and turn off when your headlights come on, just like proper DRLs are meant to.

Mine activate as soon as you turn power on. Dim when the headlights come on.

Yeah i looked at those chinese ones and they are good for lancers. Not for evos.

If it replaces you fog light how is it plug and play? Fog lights dont turn on unless you switch them on. Unless you need to use the wiring to activate it. Even then might need cut and soldering. I prefer to keep my foggies during winter driving.

Do you have any photos of the switchbacks?

Switchbacks, three wire bulb replacement that are normally LED. Come on as either DRL or parker as white, then blink when using indicators. (depending on how you wire it up)

Replaces the front indicator bulbs =)

Been looking at them for mine too. Easy 'DRL' option.

Amber and white LED's on the same light. Have a look at the link, this is one version of the lights. There are so many different types though. http://www.vleds.com/v3-wa-5k.html

I want something like this, as long as they can be wired up correctly.

These look pretty good, just concerned they might be crap and not bright enough.

Sorry to sound dumb but do these ones replace the normal CJ headlight indicators with a DRL type light that is on all the time but switched to amber when turning?

That is exactly correct, however you have to wire the white LED's to some form of 12 V power. Generally the companies recommend tapping into the parkers and use them as a second parker kind of light.
