Does anyone here know how to retrofit LED's? for taillights? I am willing to use my tail lights as a demo!

There is member (evil.sportsback) that is doing a tint overlay with different ideas for us Sportsback drivers... If you want shoot him a PM... Also he has a Facebook page: CAD (Don't remember the Acroynums) but I know he's on fb

I think what you are asking about is replacing the stock bulbs with LEDs or similar to get additional brightness.

I've tried a few different types, ones from Jaycar and a couple of types sold on ebay and have gone back to the stock ones because the LED types I tried either made little or no improvement.

The problem is that the sportback uses different bulbs from the sedan (at least in the MY10 version - I'm not sure about later models). The bulbs used are much shorter than the ones in the sedan, so the available options are limited.

They just dont exist mate.

Hopefully someone brings something out soon, im just not holding my breath.

I am considering doing a night shade treatment this weekens.
