Earth kits have there place in cars especially when running alot of accessories.
If you dont put a whole kit in aleast upgrade earth from engine to body and battery to body

Here are couple of picture of my upgraded electrical system.

What you have to watch out for though is creating ground loops, thats when a piece of gear ends up with multiple paths to ground. For instance when the car audio system grounds itself through the metal casing touching the car chasis as well as the earth wire you can get a voltage potential difference between the two paths and you end up with a high pitch squeal from the alternator coming through the speakers.

Waking up this thread...

I've seen the earthing cable kit as an option on new cars and I guess something you can get from Mitsubishi if you want later.

As far as I know my 09 VRX doesn't have the kit but how can I check, I understand the genuine ones are more stealth install than the one above on this thread.

Don't know weather it's worth it unless you're installing a bunch of after market accessories or a big ass audio system.

How can I check if my Lancer has one?

No stock car will come with the kit installed.

I wouldn't suggest buying the OEM kit. Some good gauge cable from Jaycar and a metal bracket like what you see shared is all you need. Much cheaper as well.

the best way to test if u need it is to take your shoes off and stand in a puddle whilst touching an unpainted bolt after a long drive.

and pls take a pic :)

okay i have a 2010 aspire with the MMCS and RF 9 speaker audio package, soon to be getting a front+rear blackview dashcam setup with power-magic-pro and also have a cigarette plug iphone charger running, with that many gizmos would an earthing kit like Ofey's be worth while?

Don't be sorry, its a great thread. Please keep it. I just used Ofey's pictures to install the Aerpro Kit. One thing I must ask, cos the pictures are no longer there, where on the alternator & spark plug rail do we bolt to? :D :D
