So I puchased a dash cam fuse tap and a dash cam. This is the fuse tap kit http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Original-Das ... 2749.l2649. The dash cam I have requires 5 volts and 1 amp. I noticed that the tap kit converts 12v to 5v at 1.5 amp. If I hook up the dash cam will it be recieving to much amperage or will it only draw the one amp and the other 500ma doesnt get used?

Thanks.

I bought something similar on eBay, still waiting for mine. Only difference is mine are full size USB female as my DC has GPS on the power lead so I need to plug in the other end that normally goes into a USB socket.

Correct
Doesnt matter the amperage is too high
If the convertor shoved out 12 amps and your device needs 1amp then there is 11amps left that can draw on it.so long as it puts out the correct voltage then your right as rain.
