I've been trying to source a ralliart nose piece for quite some time now and just wondering if anyone (ofey, SIR-VRX) etc, would know how I could go about getting one, and roughly what price I would be looking at.
Thanks in advance, Matt.

edit by ofey:
I've changed this to a sticky so everyone can see it.
Please refer to the parts listing and pricing in the next post if you're looking to do it.

I'm going to comprehensively answer this question once and for all. Since this is the 5th or 6th time I've heard someone ask this.

Firstly though, what do you mean by Ralliart Nose piece?
I'm going to guess you mean the front grill area... .

The front bumper bar of a Ralliart is completely different from the one off a NA Lancer. You cannot reuse any parts from your current ES/VR/VRX/Aspire front bumper bar. Even the Fog lamp is a different part. Not just the black grill in front. I'm referring to the lamp at the back. those are different parts. Even your stone trays beneath are different.

Here is a front bumper bar from an ES/VR/VRX/Aspire:
Image
The white centrepiece is ONE piece with the bumper bar.

Here is the RA Front Bumper bar:
Image

They are actually ALTOGETHER different! The place to observe is where the front lip ends.

YOU CANNOT SIMPLY BUY THE CHROME RING. IT WON"T FIT ON.

If you've seen them on NA Lancers, they're actually a Chrome tape stuck around the grill area to make them look like the RA. It's something like this:
Image
which you can get in any autobarn/supercheap/repco.

Yes the VRX has front pods which may make it hard for you to tell but if you look in the middle section, you can see this squarish front end while the RA curves more. So point to add, you cannot add the front pods onto a RA and neither will bodylips for a NA lancer go onto a RA.

Now before I lay on the prices, there is some good news in that there are some parts you can reuse : The screws and clips.

I will provide in due course part numbers of EVERYTHING You need to get a RA front bumper bar look and the prices:

I thought they were the exact same, and now I know they are totally different.
Thanks heaps for the time it would have taken you to lay all that out, all I wanted was the centre grill section, that is black from the factory and has the air vents cut out... like Ozie has but now I guess that wont work out :(
Maybe I will just have to vinyl it after all.
Thanks again for your help though mate :)

If all you want, is the same as Ozie's where you get the center bit with air vents cut out, you can do that easily with a A$150 part known as the Evo Nose which you can see below:

c) Evo X front Nose Piece
Image
Cost: A$150 Delivered
Comment: Requires you to cut your front bumper bar!

You will need a dremel or work knife to cut out the holes then attach with stickaflex.

If you want to, get in touch... .

You can buy a Ralliart replica front from Vox Motorsport - they are in Malaysia.

http://www.newpages2u.com/products.php? ... MITSUBISHI LANCER 08

Looks okay in the pictures. I have a Vox part on my car and it is fine.

I am not sure what the price is, but would be interested to know....

So as I said above:

RRP Total = A$2,488.64 (Ex VIC)
CCJ Total = A$1,990.00 (Ex VIC)
Vox Total = A$990 (Ex Malaysia)

The Vox RA Bumper Bar conversion is NOT a Mitsubishi product. It's apparently a parallel product they have created.

Cheap! I doubt Shipping will come to A$1000 worth so there's a real possibility if anyone wants to take the plunge. Same thing that it comes raw. So you need to prime and paint.

My contact assures me it is of OEM fitment and I trust him as he's not one to overplay things (he disses some of the VOX products).

I'll get a shipped price soon.

just a question guys, i have a whine lancer Activ and have same issue with front bumper and to be honest i ndt wana for out that much money for it so i was wondering is there some sort of material that u can out and stick on over the whiete parts to still have that evo x nose look?? im thinking along the lines of a sticker or sumthing like that?? im not a big fan of cutting pieces of my car out and sticking in new ones.

Let me know what you guys think or if you know of any products that would suit this sort of moddification.

You will need something to stick on that is somewhat hard and adds a third dimension.
If it's not rigid or potruding, it's just not going to work.

You could cut 2 holes in the same shape and then paint over the center part of the bar in plastidip.

A$150 solves the problem.

The easiest and cheapest way is black vinyl between the front grills

guys
i was just wondering is it possible to fit the evo nose piece without having the cut the 2 hole?
i was thinking rather then cutting the 2 hole, is it possible to just stick it on and place mesh type material on the bumper where the hole is suppose to be, so it much camouflage like its done probably?

Yep of course you can. The holes arent nessacery.

My advice would be to actually have the bumper blacked out first, then install the nose piece with the mesh on it. You might have to modify the nose piece to make it fit flush on the bumper, but it wouldnt be too much work

Actually NO.

Without cutting the holes, the Evo nose won't fit and it'll protrude out.

Hmmm.... perhaps I might be the one to take the plunge with Vox kit :P We'll see :)
