Got hit and ran at my right rear bumper,
now I have been asking about the repair.all body repairs only do a full panel respray, it cost huge.
And also I have been studying on the possibility of repair it by self, but seems like no one could have a good outcome with the metallic paint.
Anyone has an idea on how to repair that?

Painting the whole panel is the best way to go. However depending on the extent of the paint damage,
Fortunately presuming your damage is below the waistline,so less noticeable. Where plastic surface is visible
you will need to use a plastic adhesive primer, then Spray over with finish cote. If not fully satisfied, will
do until you can afford to get it fixed completely. There are places around that will do a patch-up job
for you. Check out the internet. If your in the Melbourne area can give you a lead.

I had miner damage, admittedly at the lowest part of the front bumper and did as suggested above using
acrylic spray cans of metallic silver from Autobahn. and its pretty well undetectable .

That’s a shame. Presuming your insurance not an option given you’d be up for the excess, I’d also be looking for a touch up specialist.

Just checking. When talking to repairers did you make it clear it’d be a private (ie. non insurance) job? I know our local repairer offered us a very reasonable ‘cash’ quote for some work, but as we had a claim we declined.

Unfortunately with metalic paint once a panel is damaged the majority of times you need to respray the entire panel.

Comes to your place to fix it. He was given to me by my Mitsubishi dealer, who apparently use him for their work.
