Mud Flaps/guards Removed?

Postby dtrial » Fri Dec 14, 2012 11:43 am

Hi guys,

I was kinda looking to remove the oem mud flaps that are installed.
Currently I have the standard rear bumper installed and lowered springs, so I had no idea if it is going to look better or worse.
If anyone had them removed, could you please upload a picture of it?

Thanks.

I guess pull them off and have a look.
I have noticed that mine sprays mud and tar up the side even with the stock ES mud-flaps. So im not taking them off any time soon.

Isn't it illegal to remove them?
They're not just for protecting your car but the car behind you too. Bit of a dick move.

So? Doesn't mean you should remove them.
I got a cracked window on a cruise before. Lancers kick up rocks.

Come on guys, the poster is asking how to remove mud guards and not about a law against taking them off, so let's stick to that. Anyway, for those who are off-topic, all cars would have mud guards if there is legislation for it, simple as that.

Removing the mud guards is the first thing I did when I got my first Lancer. I find it sportier that way. There are a few clips you need to loosen. You insert a flathead screwdriver to the gaps and then pull down. Then there are a few bolts you need to undo. Once they are off, just put back those screws and clips to cover the holes.
