Need a new bumper, hit a roo!

Postby Tac89 » Sun Nov 18, 2012 4:51 pm

Hey guys and girls yesterday I had a bit of a run in with a kangaroo. Was pretty lucky in the sense I only need a new bumper and some guards for underneath. But still very upsetting :(. Wheres the best place to get a new bumper from? Just Mitsubishi? And roughly how much?

Something different haha. Another car coming the other way hit it first then it bounced into mine. Reckon it would come painted? Or do you need to pay for that too. Wonder if I can get an activ bumper for it haha.

I doubt very much you will find a front bumper from a wrecker as most ride off cars are damaged at the front.

I believe a new bar is around $800 and they come in white. You may have more damage behind the bar. You are best to go through you insurance and get it fixed properly. You should only have to pay excess and it should not affect your rating as it was not your fault. I doubt the kangaroo has insurance.

Pretty much in the same boat but i hit a dog, (female one who cant drive). i reckon u should go through insurance for that man, cos there might be more damage underneath.

Yea I was gonna take it to a guy I work with dads workshop he runs a crash repair shop. And get it assessed but I was just wondering how much a new bumper would cost and if it would be less than my excess.

in the end its your choice what to do. getting advice is fine but dont listen to every bit of advice.

best thing to do is get it all assessed man. no point make choices till your explored every angle first. if you can avoid insurance it would be best. unless you know its going to cost heaps then yeah insurance the way

goodluck man.
