Hi Crudman,

You can by silicone and wax remover fluid from auto supply stores/auto paint stores.
You spray it on and wipe it off.
I would not use other random solvents on your car paintwork.

I personally would use a good modern polish or paint sealer/polish combo instead of any kind of wax on a newer car.
they will last longer and protect better.
Look for a thread called "Detailing" I think it is, where people have mentioned a few polishes that they use.
If you want to know what I am now using on my new Lancer let me know and I will give you details.

Yep, you can get an automotive paint cleaner/degreaser at an autobody or automotive paint supply store.

Clay bar or light polish.
I would recommend clay.
But if wax is causing some stuff not to stick, I would stop trying to get it to stick.
Do you mind if I ask what you’re trying to stick on?

Second that Wax and Grease remover wont leave stains or marks
Prepsol is also great for removing foreign matter without leaving residue

Dish washing detergent will do the job.

Also you should be using wax + polish/sealant combination to protect the paint!
