Aerial removal

Postby vrxwags » Thu Nov 04, 2021 10:51 am

How team,

Just wondering if anyone has removed the roof aerial, well at least enough to get it out the way or in to the roof cavity.

Going to wrap the roof and is so much cleaner if not trying to go over bits!

Thanks in advance

Headlining has to partially removed to get to the antenna. Much easier to cut the wrapping

I noticed today that my antenna is all cracked, suns gotten to the rubber material and damaged it to breaking point. is it easy to remove or switch out for something different?

I think you can get those shark fin antennas like BMW use but I think you get reception issues

yeah, was thinking that might be a problem. going to dig through eBay for something similar to factory antenna i think. I don't really want to stick something like a shark fin antenna permanently to my roof either.

that being said, i pretty much never use the radio. Bluetooth and tunes from my phone all day long!
