got my car tinted today, front windows $90

Postby Trent » Sun Jul 12, 2009 1:15 pm

got my front windows professionally tinted today. was $100 got $90 cause i had a chat to him, looks so much better than having just clear on the front windows. i got legal tint cause he told me all the mishaps of illegal tint, it suits the back coloured glass alot better and at night time is harder to see in. everyone should definately get it done it was worth it.
ill put some pictures up soon hopefully.

Did he put felt on the seals? If not you need it to minimize the scratching.

nice & good price, how come you didn't go for the back/rear windows though?

(Oh wait, looking at your display picture it looks like the two back windows may already be tinted :P)

VRX comes with privacy glass for rear windows so doesn't require tinting.

Unless you want to filter UV rays... The "privacy tint" blocks bugger all UV.

A c t u a l l y . . . When I got my RA done, as part of my " Crystal Elements Package " ... They tinted ALL 4 Door's & the Rear Windscreen ...

The privacy windows just got a " UV Filter Film " to match the Darkness of the rest of the windows, all the same shade of T35 ... :P

Bit of debate about the glass' UV blocking qualities (being that we don't know what material they use for the privacy glass - generally its 2 sheets of glass with dye or tint in the middle) so some people like to put clear tint on it to block those harmful UV rays just incase.

But yes it is cool :)

definantly black glass over a formal tint so a clear coated uv layer would need to be applied for the same effect as tint to be acheived
