Ralliart Exterior

Postby NateIRL » Tue Jul 26, 2016 12:13 pm

Hey guys I have a Lancer 2010 ES and was looking to upgrade my exterior with ralliart bits from a wreckers. Has anyone done it before? Does it use the same clips and holes? so it can just be swapped? Or is extra modification required e.g. drill holes etc?

Extra medication?? Anyway, the RA exterior is mostly the same as that of the VRX, except the bonnet of course. You can buy the spoilers on-line or from members here who might be selling them, though you will usually have to get them resprayed to match your colour. MitsubishiParts.com is a good site to check, and if you look in the group-buy forum here you will find a thread where you can get them cheaper through Ofey, the chief buyer.

For example, here's the front spoiler/air-dam (in red, they have other colours, these ones are already painted though not sure how well the colours match).

I was actually somewhat mistaken, the RA front bumper, while similar, requires a lot of different parts such as different fog lights, different undertray, etc. As for the rear bumper, I'm not really too sure, I would imagine it would fit on the same and shouldn't have anything in the way. You can get some rear diffusers that don't replace the whole rear bumper, but I imagine you would have to cut your existing bumper to put those on.

Are you dead set on a dual exhaust? They look good, but it's going to be a lot more money and work than just getting a new single exit system installed.

I'm pretty set on the dual exit, only going for an axle back so it isn't as pricey as i could be. i just feel the back end is letting the car down a bit, and love the look of dual exit. but like you said, the whole system is a bit pricey.

Yeah, it certainly looks nice with dual exit. In that case, it's been done a few times by people here on the forums, with varying success in terms of the rear bumper/diffuser. Just use the search option and you shouldn't have any problems.

Here's one thread on the Mars Performance bumper.

If you like the dual exhaust look you are best to make one of them a dummy pipe otherwise it's makes it hard for tuning

Would a heat shield be needed for a dual exit exhaust on MY12 + CJs?

I don't imagine a wrecker would ask for a VIN haha, they don't care as long as they can sell the part :P

I highly doubt it but it depends how hot your exhaust gets and how close it is to the bumper
