Are those easy to install? And how much did Rainbow pen charge you for them?

Found 2 Rainbow pen pages on Facebook, one in the US and I guess the other is the UK?

Which one and how do you buy anything on Facebook? I had a good look but could not find them.

Finally Bodykits Kingdom in Brisbane has relisted them on eBay for $99 with free shipping but you can also pick them up from their Coopers Plains shop.

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/141682328698 ... EBIDX%3AIT

They also have a website
http://www.bodykitskingdom.com.au

Will now have to wait until next month to get them, hope they don't sell out.

Gas struts look cool!

Besides most leave the old metal rod thingy in place so if they do sag in time you have a backup.

I'm a little disappointed they aren't standard on more cars or at least on the higher models like the VRX or RA.

Okay got mine today, and just installed them.

Look and work great but there was a couple of minor problems.

First you need to undo both bonnet bolts which throws the alignment out, remember with the coupe it only had one bolt point there so it wasn't an issue. But I got them fitted and aligned pretty good for now.

Second issue was the lower hole is too big IMO and could lead to damage if it pulls through with wear and tear so I added a washer on the under side which didn't come with the struts.

Over all well worth it for the cool factor of self lifting the bonnet, but in the unlikely event the fail the old bar/strut is still in place. Still annoyed Mitsy doesn't include gas struts as standard on more cars, it would cost them next to nothing to do it in the factory. I remember my parents having an old Torana with a spring loaded system some 30 years ago like many cars of the day even my 76 Celica has a bonnet designed to be vertical when up with a tiny brace in the corner to stop it falling down.

If they found time to design the sedans boot to have gas struts, not to mention the sports hatch like all hatch backs but not the bonnet for less than $100 retail?

Oh and BTW I went for the $99 ones in Brisy on eBay.
