Query about the inside of the roof trim

Postby cjsig » Sun Dec 13, 2009 4:04 pm

Typically those who has the ES variant of CJ model.

Seeing that the higher trim models has the extra interior lighting towards the front windscreen, i was wondering, is the wiring loom there within the ES model?

So has anyone ever removed the interior roof trim? I was wondering if there are the wiring loom there.

let me know if this has been asked before xP

cheers!

AH the map lights. I would assume the wiring is there as the wiring is in place for things like the steering wheel audio & paddle shift.

I am just making an assumption though.

Good question, well asked...

If you get the lining off, don't forget to Dynamat in there!

I would also love the map lights, if the mounts and wiring were evident.

I think they don't exist on the ES.

At a Melbounre meet, I asked the same question. Ofey and Aspired did mention that you would have to wire it all yourself, as they did not find any wiring in that area at all.

I could be wrong though. This is what I remember of what they told me.

I'm annoyed that we don't get these map lights, they are a very useful light to have.

As far as I'm aware the ES doesn't have this wiring bit but my VR does.

There might be a wiring loom but I'm not too sure, as Ofey said, try taking it off and checking :P

It wouldn't be hard to run some wire from the dome light anyways, even if the wiring is not there. If I do my lining I will probably install the maplights....
