How Do I Stop Floor Mats Moving?

Postby Lancer1993 » Thu Oct 13, 2016 5:23 pm

Not sure if this should be in the mods area but here goes.

Got the genuine floor mats just after I got my CJ and they are great, especially the drivers one which never moves. Pity that is not the case with the others. The front left is not too bad but the back ones are hopeless.

Anyone found a good way to anchor them which doesn't involve drilling holes in the floor and screwing them down LOL

Go to your local auto shop and buy a "non slip boot mat" cut it the size of your mats and put this on the floor with your mat on top.Works a treat.

Thanks for the heads up, will have to check it out.
The stock rear once just seem too thin and not as good as the front ones.

Anyone else had this issue with rear passengers?

Ever thought about Velcro strips? I have but not sure they'd be strong enough.. My genuine mats drive me crazy, they should all have hooks to keep them in place.

The drivers on have velcro on parts which works great, you'd probably need to sew the strips on, stick on probably wouldn't work?

My mats are original RalliArt mats rear mats shaped no problems. Then again don't often have back seat passengers.
Note the RalliArt mats have an alternative set where rear mat goes from one side of the car over center hump to the other side.
All one piece.

My rear one are separate, and shaped to fit one side and yes they are good and won't move in normal driving but someone in the back moving their feet and they move.
