Hi, I just notice after I replace my cluster with the colour cluster from ASX, the speed reading On the meter is 10% higher than actual speed (measure with GPS). I thinks this is also because of the tyre size from ASX is bigger than Lancer.
Is there any solution for it?

This is normal
It's not the cluster fault.
You will find the same with other vehicles including motorcycle and trucks.
I prefer the speedometer to say 100kmph but be doing 94kmph
No speeding tickets for me
However
If you wish to edit this you need to modify the ETACS box.
This can be done with mmcoding writer and thrre is snot program to download to edit the .Kon file produced by mmcoding writer.
In there you will find tyre sizes to edit.
I haven't played with it but it does look like it can be edited to give you a more accurate result.

I got mine from an Outlander and didn't have this issue. My speedo is about the same but because I'm running 225/40R18 instead of the stock 215/45R18 and do the math there is a 4-5% difference in size.

I agree, follow my speedo (not the GPS) and you should not get a speeding fine!

I don’t think I would be advertising the fact that I had the ability to change odometer readings. I know you have adjusted it to the correct distance for the car but it’s still dodgy playing with odometers

Hi guys,
I swapped the instrument cluster of my turboed Lancer from a old looking red display 8100A117 to a modern 8100C621 of an ASX (Outlander Sport).

From what I've read - everybody says they are a direct swap, but I am having troubles.
My lancer is a manual transmission without any TMPS and it has hydraulic power steering.

It seems as the ASX cluster is not liking this on my setup.

I've tried disconnecting the battery over night and I also read and cleared any DTCs with EvoScan.

I am a bit lost and need you help.

I think you need to edit the VIN number within the cluster, Maybe there is also a slight incompatibility with the cluster to the car. But with not actually swapping one Im not sure

did you manage to find any luck in changing the ODO reading via MMCodingWriter or can it only be changed within the instrument cluster memory?

I havent ever tried to change odometer values, I dont think it can be done via MMCodiingwriter, I think its coded into the chip within the cluster

I have the same issue, but mine gives me overheating trans, trans service and power steering, there is a code within the meter (u1415) which i have tried to erase and it won't (Its a active code) and the vins are different too but i cant edit them. Have you found a fix for this?

if not im just gonna return it and see if there is someone local who can edit an ODO and buy one from a lancer with high KM
