If they are the ones shown in the picture on the first page note that although it looks like the plate can be undone and rotated so the writing faces the driver this is not the case.

The plate thickness increases like a wedge as it approaches the base of the handle and the indent where it fits dips at the base also to accommodate.

Rotating the plate causes the two thick sides to meet and the two thin sides to meet resulting in the plate protruding out from the indent by a few mm at the button side of the handle and recessing at the base.
