Does anyone recommend a auto sparkie or member in SA that could do this?

In VIC,

Since my basic degree is in Electrical and Electronic Engg., I'm pretty nifty with a soldering iron. any sparky will find this a simple task.

I suggest the best way in all states to try this is to buy switches and panels from wreckers then change those. Once verified using a desktop 12V supply, people simply just exchange those for the ones in their car and we just keep swapping through.

This will apply for all the switches (incl. aircon dials) but not so the speedometer/revmeter and HUD unit, since these are quite different across the range.

Sure you can pay an Auto elect A$250 to do something which really can be done quite easily with the right tools.

One DIY caution however would be the possibility of overheating the circuit board with the solder/iron

The size of the soldering tip is essential for SMD LED work especially for soldering circuit boards.

I have pulled the aircondioner knobs apart and seen the circuit board and I can assure people this is not a job for a beginner. You will need the correct tools and the skills of a surgine as they are so small you can bearly see them.

If someone likes they can practise on my old airconditioner knobs circuit board. It is no good to me as It's a LHD which has the knobs on the other side. I just used it to rape the chrome knobs.

What annoys me is the non-uniformity of the dash colours. The steering wheel controls light up as red while the aircon and MMCS are red-orange. I want red everywhere except the gauges.

dunno why they chose red out of all colours, im not a fan off it at all. i find it difficult to see at times during the day. blue or white would of been a much handier colour but thats just my opinion

Yes Totally agree with you Mark , Can anyone confirm if Mitsubishi has changed the colour in the dash etc in the latest model lancers ?
