Have to agree with Peanut on this one. The other thing I am wondering about tho is those of us with airbags in the seats... how does that affect things?

if you've got airbags in your seats then a seat upgrade isn't an option. according to ADR requirements, you must retain the safety level of your car. upgrading is fine for ES/RX models without safety package.

Thats true, but for many people out there "Its only illegal if you get caught" Most coppers wouldn't be looking or knowledgable on the subject, so do it at your own risk.

For proper Australian safety regulations, the pillows would have to be either very firm or very soft. Can we get on to some Club CJ Pillow covers. And a Club CJ blanky for the back seat.

airbags in seats sucks. though if u are going to turn it into a track car it wouldn't matter about changing the seats as long as its no longer registered.

dont get me wrong i like sports seats but after a while they get annoying

if i was going to get some id probably look for a smashed evo 7/8/9 and just take them and get the rails modified if needed

Isn't the VRX seats good enough for spirited driving, or are they no better than the bog-stock ES seats?

I still have not found too many VRX at the wreckers yet!

coming from a RA, airbags are a must - i have done a bit of searching - to get the evo x seats from mitsubishi, you'll be looking at about $6800 each. the other option is something like this which i found through willshire motor trimmers for about $3200 per seat and can be trimmed in leather, suede or a combination of the two (which has the side air bags)

the final option, which seems to be the most cost effective, is to replace the factory foam for a stiff foam which they'll mould to the existing shape which will help keep you in place. that would be around $850 per seat
we are fascinated by that which can destroy us...

Wow, look good but in the realm of fantasy spending that money on an ES... the car is only worth $16K...

I don't think many would spend $6800 on seats, would they? If you would, you would be in the smallest minority I feel...

Thats like 4 house payments!
