Hi All,

I just moved to Sydney I had to sell my lancer to move so am in mourning. I still have my Vic personalised plates that I got for her. They are Black back white writing, non-slimline "L4NCER". I need to sell them so I can move again, but am not sure what sort of price I'd be getting for them. I was thinking being genuine getting maybe $2k+ for them, or am I dreaming? What do you guys and gals think?

Cheers,
Soon to be ex-L4NCER

Something is only worth as much as someone is willing to pay for it.
Have a look at what your original price was and ask your self what a reasonable price would be if you wanted to buy it from someone else.
Take a look aroubd and see what others a selling similar plates for and go from there

I think you are dreaming.
These are for a lancer and not a Ferrari

yes, 2k for the plate to say what the badge say, definitely a bargain.

Good luck at 2k, personally I don't think anyone will pay that for a Lancer! If you had some real rare old school ones or something you might! Especially since you have a very limited market, someone with a Commodore isn't gonna want them now are they, etc?

You can always try and you never know someone stupid enough might come along and buy it, but don't bet on it! Like aspir3 said if you had a expensive car it might be a different story as 2k might not be much to them either

I would be surprised if you got $200 for them. Your typical Lancer owner is generally not flushed with frivolous spending cash - and definitely not if the wife gets to hear about it first.

Hahah as said above! It costs roughly 450 or so in aus to make a custom plate like this, so I wouldn’t expect anything over 400

I've no idea what personalised plates costs in VIC, a 6 letter combination in Qld would be $2000 (purchase price new).
I'd start at whatever your purchase price was initially and see how you go.
