This means they have two modes, full bright and half bright. The full brightness is when the ignition is on and headlights off (Daylight mode). Headlights on they are half bright so as not to distract in night conditions (Night mode). And finally when light switch is in parking mode they are half bright so they can stay on and illuminate a parked car without being distracting (Parked mode).

LEDs are not affected by current draw so headlight drain would not cause a dimming. The Angel lights just must not have a compatible parking light so the ETACS isn't operating the DRLs correctly.

By law in NZ your DRLs are to turn off when the headlight circuit is turned on, so when you switch your park lights on the DRLs turned off, (not that anyone ever got pinged for not correctly wiring them  ) so it has never made much sense to have two mode LED lights on the front of your car to me... Mind you, the minefield that is ADR gives me a headache every time I have to deal with it at work...

Run a volt meter into the back of the plug of your factory fitted DRLs and see if the voltage drops when you turn your headlights on, usually LEDs are good between 2 - 4 volts either side of their recommended feed, though some go from 9v - 33v safely. If there is a voltage drop, it could be a start, if there isn't there could be something deeper. The beauty and the headache that is CANBUS, great for plug and play, not so great for fault finding without the right diagnostic tools....
i shall actually try this, but that’s crazy about the DRL law, idk about in NZ Id assume the same but the DRL on the CFs are pretty damn bright, i’ll see with my cousin if the volts drop once the headlights are on, if so it should be a pretty easy fix right? (i’m eletrically stupid )

Hopefully your cousin will have an idea, also try unplugging the headlights and having the car on, although it may throw all kinds of errors at you, it could be quicker than the volt meter. I have a tendency to blow circuit breakers in houses, I am sure someone on the forum can give you an idea though.

ReeceCozaa wrote:hmmmm this is actually pretty interesting, with the angel eyes the parkers are the two halos and the beam bar bellow the two halos, which at first confused me since i was new to headlights haha, so parker would be that, then low beam and high beam engage from the globe within the halos. after i get a few other things done i’m gonna call back and see what they say about it, because the CF DRL are damn bright and attractive at that brightness, when they dim they literally become so murky and dull and if really ruins the effect of complete bright light :(

Any news on this one? did you find a solution?

i haven’t checked it just been so busy lately, i should be seeing my cousin this weekend i’ll ask him to have a look at the headlights and DRL see what his opinion is, if i remember i’ll check of the DRL are brighter when the headlights are pulled out. i’ll report back asap once i figure something out of something new pops up!

fair enough, I just noticed in your avatar you can see in that the DRLs aren't as bright as the DRLs in the headlight.

You could save yourself a lot of time and coin and go all out and grab a 32 inch Led Bar from Stedi

https://www.stedi.com.au/st4k-32-inch-d ... t-bar.html

I have a 20 inch at the moment and to be honest, its not bright enough. Its a single row and i prefer a double row

The stedi come with the wiring kit ( i have their wiring kit installed already. Works a treat with anyother led bar your heart desires) and just grab a licence plate bracket for it. Narva make one that is air bag compliance for about $70 or so and tour all good to go with enough light to quite literally light up an entire football field.
I can comfortably light up a football field now with the 20 inch but the 30 inch is way brighter.
I want something that when i flick the highbeam i turn night into day. I want a light bar so bright that the dark is afraid of it. I want to be able to flich a switch and have the sun appear before me.

Can't wait to grab one of the Stedi light bars.

Sensational bit of kit

hahahah yep originally it’s bright white/blue which is beautiful but whilst the headlights are on it goes murky bright yellow, just looks incredibly dull, but soon i shall fix it! (hopefully hahha)
