Is it a good idea to buy a k&n drop in panel air filter? Or is my money better spent on something else?

Welcome to the club :)

K&N works. Not sure how much extra Killer Wasps it will give though... maybe one or two :P

To be honest though, to get optimal results you need to add a few bits and bobs in and then get it all tuned up together.

As was said before, lots of knowledgeable people here. just need to ask and we'll be all over it...

Welcome Dale. Good quality air filter is good but not required with our small turbos. As Alex said, maybe a watt or two. High flow cat, boost pill or 3 port and some form of tune would give best bang for buck with power
- Self tuned - work in progress - tune revision #16_03
- GS 3 port controlled wooooot :)
- Lowered on Kings
- Black Evo X FMIC/ Evo IX BOV/ Depo HFC/ UR UICP
- Awesome self installed Alpine/JL Audio sound system
- Whiteline Rear Swaybar

Thanks for the reply :) The only reason i asked about the air filter is because thats about the only mod i can do to the car atm, the car needs to go and be fixed under warranty, i just have no idea where to take it. Long story short the certified Mitsubishi RA workshops I have taken it to ether deny there's anything wrong with it or they have never worked on an RA even though they sell the RA and are certified RA dealership and have no idea what there doing so they just thrash my car on test drives when i tell them u dont need to thrash it just drive normal. Oh yeah i had the gear box replaced 3 day's after buying and now i can't get reverse sometime, the car just beep's at me lol. The motor detonates bad and i know detonation with a turbo motor's is not good. I have a feeling that the ECU needs a new RA map but no one has or know's how to put a stock ecu tune into it. Sorry for the rant :) The car only had 1500km on the clock when i bought it.
