Re: Rear 'dash' camera

Yeah, I was thinking the third brake light would only be powered when the brakes are applied. That Kaiser Baas is like the exact same design as my BlackVue DR450, which i dearly love. It doesn't have a screen, but that doesn't bother me, as the old one I had had a screen and it died after about 18 m...

Re: Rust Spot on Roof

You should try a clay bar on it if you haven't before. Not cheap, but trust me, wellllllll worth the money. I'm sure plenty here also agree.

Re: Rust Spot on Roof

I use the Turtle Wax rinseless "wash & wax", so you don't need to use the hose at all, it's rather nice, and works well if the car isn't super dirty at the time. If it's super dirty, 2 washes will prevent you from destroying your microfibre cloths. I also reapplied a super hard shell w...

Re: Free: MY09 VRX factory springs and intake

I'm definitely interested in the filter box and setup, willing to pay postage to WA, mine came with a pod filter fitted when I bought it (09 VRX) but I want to get rid of the stupid thing. Also curious what you replaced the springs with and what you think of your replacement ones. EDIT: Don't need t...

Re: Mitsubishi Lancer ends production

It's sad but probably for the best, they were only continuing to tarnish the Lancer name by shoving out the same car each year when it really shouldn't have been produced past 2012.

Re: VRX Bootlid Holes

Why do you want to remove the spoiler? Personally I think the car looks strange without a spoiler :P

If it's for rear-view vision, I found that the EvoX spoiler actually allows you to see out the back better because it sits slightly higher, meaning it blocks a less crucial part of your view.

Re: Regular ULP to be phased out in 2 years?

Yes the ecu retards the timing and also increases fuel ratio. This is why its not economical running 91. But you seem to know better Sorry what? I assume you were talking to me, I never said I knew better, in fact I explicitly asked for someone with actual knowledge of the ECU maps to comment on it...

Re: Regular ULP to be phased out in 2 years?

Do the non-turbo CJ's retard the timings on low-octane fuels to prevent knock, or are they designed with the lower octane fuels in mind? I have heard they have a dual ECU map for 91 and 95/98, however does this map change the ignition timings to suit the higher octane fuel? If so, that would be the ...

Re: Regular ULP to be phased out in 2 years?

Yep, although reading the article you will note that only 1 of the 5 strategies specifically states phasing out 91, and another seem to imply it. The rest will maintain 91 albeit with stricter sulfur requirements (which sounds like a good thing all round to me, anyway).

Re: Regular ULP to be phased out in 2 years?

Yeah, paying about 12c/L more for 95 and 19 c/L more for 98 is really going to make this suck. Because you can bet the fuel price won't come down to match the requirements. Just another way to get us all to pay more for fuel. Also, I'd love if anyone could provide some actual studies regarding envir...

Re: Window seals

Well, I might have spoken too soon :P had to replace the passenger side front window seal on my old Laser, they just had clips holding them on nice and tight, you just pull them off with the window rolled down. Don't want to try on my Lancer because if they are brittle they can break, and since I do...
