Re: NEW LANCER-Eclipse Cross
Since platforms are kind of modular (Lancer/ASX etc), no reason why they couldn't do one. The issue is sales, but that's only because they end up diverging the products too much like the updates on the ASX not transferred to the Lancer. Even if the parts are slightly cheaper logistics of parts makes...

Re: Timing Chain Pre-Tensioner Recall
The recalls were issued today. Just curious, when they do they mail out, is it Mitsubishi relying on vehicle registration information, or is it based on purchase information whereby if you move it will be sent to your old address?

Re: Lancer "gone by end of 2018"
They should have made a car half way between the size of the Lancer and ASX, and having it modernised of course.

Re: Tow Bar Setup Advice
I guess directly from behind it doesn't obscure the number plate? If it does they could decide to fine you. Another reason to have it is the boot and only installed when required .

Re: Exhaust
Hot dogs don't remove much sound as the hot dogs rely on absorption of sound by the packing material. There simply isn't enough there for this effect. Hot dogs are therefore more about cleaning the sound a bit. Larger body resonators may help, they're closer to being straight through mufflers which ...

Re: Air Conditioning Stopped Working after weird noises
Realistically probably should have been around $350. In any case, compressors are expensive new, second hand may be an option but risky, and again there's likely more than one system used. Have you checked the compressor model number? Be careful that they do it properly with lubricant and the proper...

Re: Air Conditioning Stopped Working after weird noises
Quick look, $600 is way too much for the 135k service. Also the $150 is excessive, especially to diagnose what you already know. Just think of what they'll charge for the repair!

Re: Air Conditioning Stopped Working after weird noises
Repco places that do AC do a great job, and properly. If the compressor is seized, genuine is super expensive, and many places won't like fitting a second hand one. The compressor in the Lancer is pretty reliable though, so a decent second hand one should be okay. There's possibly multiple incompati...

Re: Air Conditioning Stopped Working after weird noises
Possibly the compressor is stuffed? It sounds like it was seizing, which is why the engine revs dropped significantly (drag), and it finally gave way and you lost the gas. When did you last get the AC serviced? Also, when you got it done was it refilled with the correct gas? There are several 'new' ...

Re: BOOTS. In and open.
That's what I meant. I guess it depends on how strong they are. Upgraded gas lifters are probably easier

Re: Exhaust
Discussed many times before :). I can't find the original posts about it. In any case, the EGR valve got stuck open, and the car could barely run and constantly stalled. Luckily I could pull into a popular lookout. The road side assistant couldn't find the issue. Got it towed to Ultra Tune as they w...

Re: 2017 Black Edition CF Lancer
I got one ages ago. Had to buy some velcro sticky things to keep it in place as it came loose with heat.
They're on special at the moment, down from $52.49 to $35.99.

Re: Exhaust
Have purchased a 2.4lt exhaust manifold, to replace the clam-shell manifold on my 2ltr 2015 ES. I understand these 2.4ltr type manifolds have actually been used on some earlier 2ltr cars. So wander! Hmmmm warranty? Might hold off for a year!!!! Instead of gold exhaust wrap. Considering painting it ...
