That proper CF scoop looks a lot better than the wrap job I saw at the Mitsy dealer on a NEW Ralliart recently, yes they took a brand new RA and put cheap CF wrap on the bonnet and mirrors.

Good to hear you've got some positive progress. 100ml in 50km is a lot I'd get them to do something now before it gets worse. From someone who knows oil leaks/usages don't tend to fix them selves. I know you need a certain amount of trust when it comes to service history, some mechanics have been ca...

Just got back from the Rally cars gathering in Caloundra for the QLD round this weekend, nice mix of cars including a few Lancers/EVOs and even one Mirage! http://www.clubcj.net/cached_images/1434701883_7_PB_8162_0.jpg Funny that none of them had a big ass 'TOW' stickers on the bumpers. Planning on ...

Me too, my first test drive in the VRX it was like I'd not driven a manual in years. Doesn't help I often drive 3 different vehicles a week. The Lancer a small 3 ton truck and an auto Pathfinder. To top things off the truck's GB has R where first normally is. The biggest issue I have with the VRX is...

Best advice it to take a friend, preferably someone with some mechanical knowledge. If the car is private then do all the usual tests and ask if you can get it checked by a mechanic, if they don't agree walk away.

Back to the original post and I guess you gave the racing boy in the MX5 something to think about, but just be careful they could be baiting you and before you know its you're pulled over for speeding. Times like this I can't help but think of Marty McFly! [youtube]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tlh...

Alloy Fuel Lid

Okay been reading up on the Alloy Fuel Lids you can buy for the CJ. Like this... http://pic.yupoo.com/see-sea/BmZkLKs6/xJ2eB.jpg Anyway I've noticed a big price difference from $80 to around $300, is there a real difference or is it something else to explain the gap? I did see the thread on the bulk...

Modern cars are pretty tough so I wouldn't worry too much, over time you'll get used to it. I've been driving over 20 years and it took me a few months to get used to my CJ.

I agree it comes down to just getting used to the car.

That said the traction control can kick in if your wheel slip causing the engine power to be cut and feeling like it's stalling. Try turning it off and see if this helps.

Not that I condone street racing but I've had my 2.4 over 5k, close to 6k but the power comes on so quick before I know it I'm up shifting to 3rd. Most modern cars have limiters to stop you over revving and damaging your engine, I'm sure this is the case with the CJ. Best advice is to do it some tim...
