Re: CVT is sh*t
Yes the CVT is made to a price point that is aimed at economy/fuel consumption and comfort rather than performance. Nothing you do to the engine will change that as the engine isn't in control, the transmission is (it tells the engine what RPM to run). You could add paddle shifters (plug and play) o...

Re: 2009 Lancer Auto Tramsmission Fluid Change
Manual says 7.1L for CVT. The unit is a Nissan one made by Jatco. As you have the older J1 spec you could probably find a compatible fluid for much cheaper (dealer price is overly inflated, about what they pay for a 20L drum). eg: https://www.penriteoil.com.au/products/cvt-fluid-v-full-syn Going off...

Re: Turbo upgrade
IMO adding a turbo to a CVT wouldn't be the best option. Consider a turbo as an RPM controlled device, at an engine RPM threshold it will start to generate boost and climb to a peak before tapering off. With a standard manual or dual clutch transmission this works fine, with a CVT the RPM never just...

Re: How's the forum these days
Just some general advice based off my own experiences: If you go for a VRX (Sport focused) or Aspire (Luxury focused) any year with a good price/service history and low mileage would do as the models didn't change much over the years. If you go for an ES or variant (SX, RX, ACTiV etc. so many Specia...

Re: Tow Bar Setup Advice
Back in the day when I used to have a work Triton we were told by the company to remove the tongue when not in use as one of the techs badly twisted their knee when they slipped off it while loading the tray.
So may be safer to limit 'accidents' etc.

Re: Interior Front Reading Lights
Here's a circuit diagram, black is ground and there should be yellow and red going to light. Or going off the rear dome light it's a black wire to pin 3 and a black/white to pin 2 using plug output D-02. Wire colours are only a guide as things can/do change so to be sure a multimeter is recommended....

Re: rust on a new gsr.....
5 year warranty is only for perforation corrosion, not surface rust. Stone chips etc. that get through the paint and primer undercoat will show up as rust spots, my car front end is full of such spots. As it's only surface rust as others have said it's easy enough to treat the rust then paint over. ...

Re: Seating question
The Neoprene are good but as stated really expensive for what you get. Mine have faded even with darkest legal 'Midnight Express' tint and the stitched Lancer logo has yellowed somewhat. But they are water proof and clean off very easily. Only thing is I'm not sure if there are different versions fo...

Re: 2017 Black Edition CF Lancer
Thanks for photos, seems the Black edition has the smaller ES brakes. But the colour display is nice and the other bells and whistles make it a good buy considering it's the same price as the ES Sport.

Re: 2017 Black Edition CF Lancer
There are a few differences under the hood. Has hydraulic power steering which is interesting, I wonder if it's a Black edition thing or if Mitsubishi have ditched the electronic PS in the CF?. Has the clamshell style exhaust manifold so a possible point for upgrade. Has the newer style airbox with ...

Re: New Member MY16 Lancer
The K&N filter might not fit your airbox. As your box has the short clips it is the newer design with a different filter. You would need K&N 33-3015 instead.
