I know the smaller engines use less fuel but just how big is the difference?

Can't wait to see this done, have see some costly genuine ones on eBay but was hoping to do some white (or yellow) ones on the cheap. But still fading with the roof lights if I can find where to wire them. Help on mounting them would be good too. Also has anyone tried running some under the seats fo...

Gas struts look cool!

Besides most leave the old metal rod thingy in place so if they do sag in time you have a backup.

I'm a little disappointed they aren't standard on more cars or at least on the higher models like the VRX or RA.

I agree Lancers don't use oil unless there is an issue, either a leak or rings. My old Lancer only started using oil when it was leaking it out the head gasket, and running down the side. But even then/now it's not burning oil, its not mixing with the water. Unexplained oil usage is never a good sig...

Short trips around town I'm still lucky to get below 10Lt/100km, I'm hoping for much better on the trip down to Adelaide later in the year. At least to average less than 8, less than 6 will be pushing it I think but I can't wait to see how it goes. The best I've got in the past on a long trip was ab...

All working now! http://www.clubcj.net/cached_images/1433989807_23_PB_8162_0.jpg Just need to tidy up the wiring and paint the chrome is the weekend is dry. Also with this one they don't actually turn off fully when the head lights come on, a bit like some factory ones the DRL dim when the head ligh...

Hella Horns I got on eBay for $55, first mod I made. Easy install plugged into the stock horn wiring with no need to put in a relay or remove the bumper. More info on my thread, others have done similar installs here. http://clubcj.net/viewtopic.php?t=17273&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0

Bit weird they would rego a car as a demo and only do 8km, clearly it has been sitting a while, ideally they should have done at least the 1000km service before you picked it up. Just sitting around doesn't do the car a lot of good, personally I'd be more happen with a couple of 100 km on it just to...

Step 1 - install the lights and wiring. http://www.clubcj.net/cached_images/1433913303_23_PB_8162_0.jpg Now just need the sparkie to wire it up in the morning! Might need to do something about that big ugly number plate  Not sure about the chrome around the DRLs. Not as bad as I first thought n...

IMO the biggest issue with any mechanical mods which involve transplanting an engine and drive train into a car not sold with them is the engineering paperwork. Getting it legal and running as it would have come out of the factory, but if you have the time and can do the work it might be the way to ...

But if it can be proven the sales guy was dodge then maybe the dealer will help you out to make it go away.

Yes keep on to them is the best option.

Yeah sure sounds like the old sales guy was bending a few rules. I don't agree with dealers registering cars as demos just to boost sales. As for the early service it won't hurt the car but I'd push for a deal so you're not out of pocket. I'd contact the dealer principle and talk to them. I don't se...

Thought as much. At a guess I'd say it aids in air flow around the engine for better cooling but that said why put a plastic cover over the engine just to make it look cleaner? Every new car has one but you'd think it would have better cooling with more air flowing around the engine bay? This thread...

Um dumb question but I'm getting the wiring done later in the week and to speed up things I'm planning on removing that plastic cover over the radiator so I have access to run the wires. Is it okay to run the car with out it. I assume it's more for show than anything mechanical as long as the air in...
