You would be basically going from a 2 inch pipe to a 2.25 inch pipe. There is a bit of discussion of this, with 2.25 inch reportedly better for high revs, but others saying 2 inch is better for normal driving? Not sure of the outright benefit of that piping, and at that price it sounds like mild ste...

Can I ask what the new CJs exhausts are made of? My 09 VRX is stainless steel through out. I believe except for the cat it's basically mild steel all the way from the manifold (also steel) to the exhaust tip. The exhaust is straight from where the manifold attaches to the pipe before the cat, right...

Extractors would be more beneficial than changing a bit of straight pipe from the catalytic converter to the muffler. The post 2012 MY13's have a different exhaust design.

In the later CJ Lancers, I believe the change probably occurred at the same time as the air filter box change (make sure you get K&N 33-3015 NOT 33-2392), the exhaust from the catalytic converter back is pretty much a straight pipe. It would be interesting to know the difference between just rep...

Yeah that looks a little funny at the rear end! I was probably thinking the wrong way around with the sportback and the ASX and Outlander. A Lancer wagon was probably considered too similar to the ASX.

That's why Americans love pickup trucks, they need the load carrying capability *eyebrows*

See this is another reason they should have made a proper wagon version and not the sports back thing. Would have love to see a wagon CJ! It's a shared platform with the ASX and Outlander (although the sharing has seemed to have waned unfortunately), I guess the Sportsback was simpler to develop. O...

Count me in for one of the first lancers to get done on the 12th ;) Same, that would be great lol. It would be interesting to see the difference between our two cars seeing as the only difference mechanically would be the normal engine variations and mods. One of the other Lancers is a pre-2012 MY1...

Connecting a second battery would ideally require a battery management system like you see on 4WD's so you don't flatten both batteries :). Something like this I guess: http://www.redarc.com.au/products/product/smart-start-sbi_12v_100a/ Note that is the cheapest one from Redarc, not the best of thei...

Lucky it was something simple, and even more lucky the little strip wasn't lost. You can actually get the key's copied, it's a little cheaper with getting one without the remote part. If you just cut the key with the immobiliser part it can be anywhere from $120 to over $200, depending on where you ...

So it took them 8 years to come up with a new bumper design? Regardless, this facelift is obviously out of desperation. I remember nearly 2 decades ago when Volvo tried to modernise the front end of the curveless 850 and renaming it S70, but it just didnt go with the rest of the car that was still ...

I believe as part of the economy improvements the 2012 MY13 onwards may be a different unit. Not as good as the CVT8 next year though! That transmission was announced by Jatco in 2011, according to the results of googling :). Another reason why I suspect the transmission is different is pre 2012 MY1...

I agree, try a spare key maybe? Sure there's fuel in it? If I were cynical I would say the issue makes sense, since there's a 5 year warranty and it's a 2010 model... in saying that though, I do hope it's something simple. I doubt that it's the ECU, although it is probably the stupidest place to put...

Welcome! Whatever mods you decide to do depends on how much you would like to spend on them. There are probably three big things to do, the first to is change to a Ralliart air duct (the normal one is far too restrictive). However, this requires cutting plastic at the front of the engine as illustra...
