My son used to call his red Series 1 RX7 Fenrir. A rather interesting kick ass wolf from Norse mythology. He hasn't named to Calais. Except for "piece of crap". I haven't named the Lancer yet. It's just the Lancer. My husband used to call it Henry because when I got it he reckoned it was l...

A couple of months ago a few little toe rags broke into the house over the road from my holiday house and set fire to the bathroom. It was noticed before it spread to the rest of the house too much but it is now all smoke and water damaged. It's not just cars unfortunately. Not much they could do to...

No Chubb I don't street race. I get off at the lights fast to let the guy behind me have a chance to get through. We were in Adelaide about 18 months ago and one of the lights only stayed green long enough for one car to get through. It didn't help that the person in front of us took forever to get ...

I think mine revs around 2500 to 3000 at 112ks. I do that down the F3 Freeway here quite often. It was pretty much just an oil and filter change at 15000 I think. Probably had some dirty filters. Who knows. I drop it off and whinge it's not doing what it's supposed to and they fix it. I'm in it enou...

It was a bit slower off the mark and needed a bigger push to overtake and that. I had to pick my overtaking spots again. Usually I can just sail past anything in the shortest spots but not then. Mine was fine until about 13000 and then it started to feel off and now it's back to being brilliant. I t...

The Bubble got its first set of new brake pads at 155,000 or so. New clutch at the same time. Then 25,000 later new rotors. Hmmmm that just shows what hardy little cars they are doesn't it. Pity the new parts are all shit.

I hope the Lancer gets a few more ks out of her. She's sitting on 19,000. The Bubble got to 180,000. And then 190,000.

Im really most interested in how Lancers hold up hold up on 8 hour long cruises at 110kph. They go really well. They're comfy and you don't have to try to pour yourself out at the end of the day. I drive long distances all the time. 6 to 9 hour days. Actually the only other car I can handle driving...

The best reason is that the Lancer CAN beat SS Commodores at the lights. Well mine can with me driving it :P

It's going brilliantly now. It sucks that the discs that were machined were only 12 months old though. Around 10,000km on them. They stuffed up a lot earlier though.

The last ones were way past machining. They were cracked.

Wonder how long it will last this time sighhh

My eldest reckons there's no real difference between the two. He's got a new 3 Maxx Sport. The only difference between the two is that his has a big screen with a sat nav. And that's not the base model either. It's a fair way up the chain. He makes sure he drives my car when we go anywhere in it in ...

You might be able to get them repaired aye. Not sure how badly damaged they are. It cost you much less. I had the rotors on a CBR600 machined once, and they lasted a while after that. It might cost you around 50 bucks... not sure Cost me $60 to get the Bubbles machined about a week and a half ago i...

I replaced the brake rotors on the Bubble at around 180,000 km. That was in February last year actually. Around the time I got the Lancer. It's had 3 kids learning on it and been through heaps. A couple of weeks ago I had to stop at a tyre place at Glen Innes on the way to Brisbane. It felt like the...
