Where does that ribbon plug in? I don't get how this ribbon works with the radio HU when it's nothing to do with it.

Maybe try the wreckers or look at upgrading to a touch screen HU?

I guess it's a warning to any of use doing work like this.

I've had it lock for a split second and only on loose surface like dirt but the point is ABS on dry hard road should not lock up. Is he used to driving ABS cars? First time I braked hard and felt the pulse trough the peddle I backed off which is not what you do in an ABS car. In the old coupe I've h...

So there is cutting, was hoping it was a simple matter of popping out a panel or something.

Car is due for a service soon and I have a few things I need to ask them so might add this to the list. Not that I'd get the dealer to fit or supply them. $180 on eBay, hate to think what they would charge.

IMO if it's drivable it's fixable but thats up to your insurance company. Clearly it needs some new panels and a bumper and that reinforcement bar needs some work. Given the after market parts you might need to negotiate something if you plan on using no genuine parts, but ironically they could be c...

I think Ive only ever seen one of these vents not collapse while driving (wont stay open), its a common problem. Not sure if that is your problem that youre talking about but if it is, its pretty normal. You can pop the cover off and fix the vents, they click in from behind. I did this when I repla...

I still want to do this, anyone else installed the Mitsy ones that cost about $180 on eBay?

I checked the workshop manual but couldn't find any details on how to do it apart from what was posted here.

Just do a Google search in your area and make some calls to get an idea of the cost, not checked recently but going by eBay you'll looks at around $400 plus fitting. There was a member on here recently trying to sell there's, not sure if it's in you area.

Could be an expensive mod, it's like a $1000 option on some Fords. Not sure if any other car maker short of BMW have it on their options list. Which I find amazing as it's not new and has been out at least a year now. I would have thought it's basically a sensor under the rear linked to your key fob...

Kick-to-open tailgate?

So some new Fords now come with a neat feature were waving your foot under the rear bumper opens the boot/hatch.

Any one tried rigging up something like this to work on the CJ?

Went and ordered some today, pictures to follow when they arrive. But basically I paid the $165 to get my stock plates turned into slimline B&W ones. Annoyingly I had to surrender one of the existing plates, so right now the front of my CJ looks a bit naked without it and it's 100% legal! Wonder...

Yes and no, preparation is the key and buy more than you need as you'll likely make a few mistakes the first time.

I'd still like the know the correct way to remove them, from past experience I know the plastic tabs can easily be broken if you force them the wrong way.

Got these yesterday.
The writing is not blue, just the protective plastic which is peeled off.
The rear ones are tiny but I have a plan to cover the sills a bit more.
