Re: OEM "DEPO" Style HID Headlamps

Mars Performance "el-cheapo" 35W / 6000K option. (If you can call $140 for the pair cheap...) https://marsperformance.com.au/MARS-35W-AC-HID-Xenon-Head-Lights-Bulbs-D2S-D2R-D2C The original DEPO bulb was a D2S, whilst these are D2C. Post number 5 in this thread has the differences between ...

Re: OEM "DEPO" Style HID Headlamps

New bulbs are in, and oh yeah.... Much brightness of light happening. :-) Less than 90 minutes from start to finish. If I'd paid attention to lining up all the bulb holder bits when inserting the first new one, it would have been quicker. The worst part is unclipping the front bumper from the clips ...

Re: OEM "DEPO" Style HID Headlamps

Wow! Man that's a lot of work It sure is, but is quicker and easier than faffing around trying to get my hand(s) into tiny spaces... You don't have anyone living close by who you might be able to ask to help get the bulbs in/out with ? I've done it twice now without help (once to get the DEPOs inst...

Re: OEM "DEPO" Style HID Headlamps

The stock headlights are the same size / shape as these DEPOs. My hands are too large to get into the gaps between the back of the lights and all the brackets / wires / crap in the engine bay, so it's easier for me to just pull the entire bumper off and remove the lights.

Re: OEM "DEPO" Style HID Headlamps

Hey there, I tested things today, and it's the bulb that's shot. I tried: - dodgy bulb in working headlight - flickered like before - dodgy ballast in working headlight - worked perfectly A new set of bulbs are on their way. (I might as well replace both of them, as I expect the other one to die now...

Re: OEM "DEPO" Style HID Headlamps

Hey all, On the drive home this evening, one of the low beams started flickering on and off several times per second - very annoying, and probably dangerous to anyone susceptible to epilepsy... I checked the wires were all plugged in OK, would it be the bulb or the ballast that's on the way out? I'm...

Re: FS: Super circuit headers

Is that for the 4B11 (2.0l) or 4B12 (2.4l) engine?

Looking at the SuperCircuit website, the 4B11 headers have 4 mounting bolts for the heat shield whilst the 4B12 headers have 3 mounting bolts.

Re: Regarding the whole braking setup

Can't speak for cars, but with motorcycles the change from rubber brake lines to braided lines is like chalk and cheese. (I'll take the braided lines over squidgy rubber any day!)

Re: Import duty/tax

The original post is now out of date.

The import laws got changed a couple of years ago (thanks very much Gerry Harvey, you worthless turd) so that anything you import is liable for GST. Yes, even that $2.50 widget off eBay. :-(

Saturday April 18th on Scoresby Rd - a blue SportBack with black bonnet & blacked out front badge, after-market rims and seriously lowered.

Didn't see the rego plate, unfortunately.

Re: COVID19 Lancer Prep

I found this fellow's articles to be well written and thought provoking. (And probably a good guide of what NOT to do...) Especially the follow-up article ' The Hammer and The Dance ' where he outlines ways to slowly unwind the lock-down / physical distancing we have in place now. https://medium.com...

Things are going OK. Still have a job and a roof over my head, so better off than a lot of people.

Ferntree Gully Woolworths (Burwood Hwy?) last weekend - silver sedan with vortex generator, rear diffuser (the thing that goes under the bumper), two Mitsubishi logos on the boot (WTF?), and personal plate of 'UWASH' or something similar.
