Re: 2008 Lancer CJ VRX - Build thread

[quote You can't have both low end torque and good efficiency and agressive cams; unless you have a "variable valve lift system" - Our cars do? In fact the 4B11 was the first to have both intake and exhaust variable lift cams.[/quote] Yup It's called MIVEC This just shows how little you g...

Nice work. Are the white interior LEDs harsh on the eyes at all? If you're looking for decent led interior led grab these https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/184664172414 They work quite well and quite bright The OEM incandescent style are pure rubbish These ones https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/184779964929 Wo...

Re: 2008 Lancer CJ VRX - Build thread

Be very careful with the fuel filter, lives under the rear seat in the tank From memory it has about 8 nuts holding it down And from memory it's got a slight spring tension to it when being removed So be wary of that Keep the fuel level very low When lifting up the fuel filter , take it very slowly ...

Re: K&N Stainless steel reuseable oil filters.

I think I would stick with a replaceable filter. The price of a billet reusable will buy you an awful lot of normal filters. Absolutely 100% beyond any shadow of a doubt Totally agree with you If you need to have a magnet to pick up all the metal shavings in the motor , then you have much bigger is...

Re: K&N Stainless steel reuseable oil filters.

Why do you need a magnet on a GSXR motor ?
They are damn good motors and don't fall to bits like Hyundai motors do.
A decent oil filter like the Ryco Z411ST , get them either wholesale or price matches at Super cheap auto

Re: FOR SALE: Genuine Rockford Fosgate Sub

most people usually take a photo of the item, with a piece of paper in the photo with your user name, host it somewhere like imgur as a hidden photo and then share it back here, that way we can see its all above board.
covers you as well as the buyer

Re: Lancer Throttle Controller

slide the seat all the way back, and lay in the floor on your back with feet either outside or up on the seat also to make life easier, there is a small cover you can remove just above the pedals, held in with 3 plastic clips , that will let you in and see easier also, grab a service manual , check ...

Re: Lancer Throttle Controller

i suggest you grab a mobile phone, set it to video mode, get it recording, with the light on so you can see the rear of the plug while it is still mounted and watch the video you make.
you can also remove the 2 x bolts holding the throttle to the firewall to make it easier to see the plug

Re: Lancer Throttle Controller

Yeah I would have no idea on how to do anything within the ECU. I'd much rather get the EVC as it would likely be cheaper, would be simpler and I would still be able to notice a difference in the throttle response. Not trying to build a ground breaking car so an EVC will give me what I'm looking fo...

Re: 2008 Lancer CJ VRX - Build thread

good to hear the ASC error is fixed why did you pull the steering wheel off for in the first place? the coil packs for the lancer are inexpensive. i have seen a set of 4 under $150 fuel filter- it lives in the tank under the back seat. make sure fuel level is below half before even thinking about do...
