Renault seem to be in the drivers seat but I don't think Nissan or Mitsubishi would be happy to lose their heritage.
All we can do is wait and see.

Re: Lancer article on Drive.com.au
Problem with the EVO is it was originally released due to homologation rules for WRC which needed a certain number of road cars made for the public so Mitsubishi could race it. Even then they ran to the lower spec Group A rules and not the full WRC rules till much later (2001). Mitsubishi hasn't bee...

Re: VIC - Spotted Thread
Am I getting a hint that Lynbrook might be a good place for a Club meet up? Then Lancers would be easy to spot
I'd be down for it, just need a bit of planning.

Re: CVT is sh*t
Yeah it's 2 steel banded belts reinforced by metal plates. It's also a push belt not a pull belt so that it is always under compression and won't stretch. Here's a good tear down video so you can see the internals. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ry_gN3QVswk An interesting point is that GSR Lancers ...

Re: CVT is sh*t
Just to play "Devil's Advocate" here, if you get your gear right before you enter the corner then you don't need to change half-way through the corner. Knowing what gear to be in takes time and driving experience. Totally agree that experience plays a large factor. What was interesting wa...

Re: Anyone in Victoria available for a tyre experiment?
Used to run some Firestone things on my old steelies, 195/60R15 and while the road comfort was awesome and noise reasonably low, the tyres had really weak sidewalls, while the car wobbled similar to your findings moo, mine never exhibited the same loss of control or skipping issuse and jerky wheel,...

Re: Anyone in Victoria available for a tyre experiment?
That's just the thing, based on reviews and general advice people find those tyres to be good so it's why I ignored them as a possibility for my issues for so long, but I've checked and swapped parts, paid money and done as much research as possible all to no avail. You have to go to a website such ...

Re: Mod suggestions 2012 Lancer Activ
First up what are your goals for your car, are you looking for performance or cosmetic and how much/how far are you willing to go? Everyone has a different opinion about what should/could be done with a car and not all of it is going to be worthwhile. For simple (but costly) things you could put 18 ...

Re: Anyone in Victoria available for a tyre experiment?
I've tried a range of pressures from 28 all the way up to 42 PSI, all adjusted early morning. At 42 the car tramlined horribly, at 28 the car was quite good but the low pressure increased drag and affected fuel economy plus slower steering response. I usually run 34-36 PSI as a happy middle but it's...

Re: Anyone in Victoria available for a tyre experiment?
I'm fairly certain the soft sidewalls are causing the issue as the car feels a lot better when there is a passenger (even weight on front tyres). The tyres look flat even when properly inflated (36-42 psi) and as I have an open wheel design I can stand on the rim and it will cause the tyre to flatte...

Anyone in Victoria available for a tyre experiment?
Long story short my car has had very annoying handling and ride for some time now, car tends to not always go the way steering wheel is pointed and will skip and hop over bumps. I've checked all the usual suspects of worn bushings, ball joints, tie rods, suspension mounts, alignment, blown shocks, s...

Randomly stumbled upon this article:
https://www.autoevolution.com/news/mitsubishi-recalls-cvt-transmission-for-hesitant-acceleration-110531.html
Basically US CVT had a software glitch that made it hesitate on take off. Wonder if it is also in Aus cars.

Re: Rotor upgrade/replacement
The fronts are correct, 2422S but the rears are the smaller ES size (I've got those exact boxes sitting in my room and I changed out the fronts for larger VRX/GSR size). I think you need 2425S for the rears, 302mm diameter. 2209S also goes by 2423S which is 262mm.

Re: CVT is sh*t
With that stick shift arrangement I'd be forever trying to put it in 6 and hitting reverse, used to do it all the time after going from 6 to a car with 5. Makes a horrible sound and no doubt causes damage. That said I've joined the dark side and now much prefer auto over manual, particularly with pa...
