Re: Getting into OBDII info
390km to a tank is a significant drop from normal, how old is the car? O2 sensors do take some time to warm up however after the vehicle has been running for a while it should operate normally pretty fast. It may definitely be worth looking in to, what you've described sounds like the O2 sensor is g...

Re: Removing Pillar Trim
It's easy to remove them, literally just pull them. There will be a small plastic piece securing the A pillar to the frame for the air bags, not hard to remove.

It's a shame they don't fit, very simple little change but actually looks really nice.

Re: Mitsubishi recalls 500,000 cars in AU
I wouldn't be deterred buying a car that has had safety recalls carried out - at least you know any potential fault has been rectified. Better to see that recalls have been done then find out down the track there's outstanding recalls on the vehicle. Got my recall letter in the mail yesterday, still...

Re: Dimming mirror
Your wiring sounds okay, I'm not sure why it wouldn't be working..sounds stupid but have you shone a torch into the sensor to see if it does anything? Perhaps the ground you've done isn't adequate?
Also, you're right in thinking that hazards are constant 12v.

Re: Lancer v Pulsar, we chose wisely
Strange about the back seats, I have never seen that before. There's no pull levers in the boot either? Weird..
Also I do sometimes wish we had proper temp/fuel gauges..there's something about the incriments I just don't like with the LCD display.

Re: Mitsubishi recalls 500,000 cars in AU
Correct - the dealership is compensated by the manufacturer HOWEVER the manufacturer determines the length of time the repair should take, if the repair takes longer than the manufacturer's designated time the amount of money received by the dealership will not increase. They'll pay for the allowed ...

Re: Missing Person - Caloundra
Hmm..the article I saw was a missing 21 year old man from Caloundra? Just checked again and the article definitely names him as Jay.
Either way, it's very sad news. I can only imagine how his mum is feeling. Thinking of you guys.

I hope this ends well mate, can't imagine a family member disappearing - not knowing must be killing you guys.

If they try to brush you off or say there's nothing they can do, you've always got the tolling ombudsman to fall back on..just the mention of it will generally get you somewhere..
