Re: Exhaust
Probably would be too loud then. You'd have to get a straight through stainless resonator, one with a large body so it acts like a muffler also.

Simple chip keys can be copied at a couple of hundred dollars. Ring around though, prices can vary greatly. Keyless keys are much harder even though without the key, keyless is left with just 'less'. Less is more, in this case the price!

Re: 2017 Black Edition CF Lancer
I believe the engine has been tuned slightly differently for better emissions rating, there may be slightly different parts involved. If you did the usual mods and tuned it, it's likely the engine will produce similar power to and older CJ engine post EPAS. The base engine and head is at least 11 ye...

Re: Exhaust
It's target is noise, but without experience can't comment on volume with load etc. I have a mid size straight through muffler currently and it's a little loud around town, but a decent resonator helped a lot. On the highway I cannot hear it over the road noise, I'll have to see if Nilrust has an in...

Re: Exhaust
Be sensible with it, you'll end up with a loud, droney car if you're not careful!

Re: GOD HELP little TURBOS
There are several different engine designs, in terms of the likes of inline/straight (like the Lancer) vs flat (Subaru, Porsche) vs V (most 6 cylinder engines and above). It will likely be in the future that engines will be generators for hybrid vehicles rather than for providing the actual thrust, ...

Re: Selling 4B12 stock exhaust manifold
I wonder if the ASX's come with a clamshell or extractor type manifold? I believe the low end power probably comes from the small primaries, ideal for small engine and CVT's :), it would probably hinder the actual 4B12 manuals though due to the under load high rev, larger engine flow requirements. I...

Re: NA lancer review
Electric power steering came in around 2013, my 2013 MY14 has it. So handling wise, what are the best bushes to change also taking into account ease of fitment? Been wanting to do it but not sure the best to replace. Also the car is still under original 5 year warranty.

Re: WTB: 4B12 exhaust manifold
Did some more driving today. Under around 3000 rpm it's definitely better than the 4-1 streets and especially the 4B11 manifold (the streets from memory were better than the 4B11), but you lose it in the high end. It probably performs not dissimilar to the 4B11 manifold above 3500 rpm. I think the m...

Re: WTB: 4B12 exhaust manifold
It is strange we get the Californian manifold here on the 4B11's, assuming the rest of the US actually has the federal spec 4B12 (Australia) manifold. In any case, it seems to be tuned for the 2.0 L CVT with the small primaries, it would be disadvantageous with 4B12 manuals you would think. Don't kn...

Re: WTB: 4B12 exhaust manifold
I painted the 4B12 stock extractors with high heat paint, let it dry, cured it (with gradual increase of temperature), and wrapped it with thermal wrap. I fitted it today, luckily it came with the 4B12 bracket from the wreckers which was good, I used the downpipe from the 4B11 manifold as the bottom...

Yes, dealer warranties are different. The extra charge helps with revenue and helps pay for any claims.

Re: WTB: 4B12 exhaust manifold
It would help with insulating it if it is double walled, but it would only likely reduce it not eliminate it. Unless you can say you can keep your hand on it after an hour driving!
