Not at all, going about 40 down the hill with it in second (on CVT) to stop it running away and having to ride the brakes. It just conked out at the bottom and hasn't worked properly since. I'm lucky I could drive over to the windy point lookout, if it happened driving down from Windy Point could be...

:(. Last night I was coming back from Belair, going down the steep hill that goes off Belair Rd across from the top entrance to Windy Point lookout. I used the manual mode on the CVT to slow down (so up to around 2500-3000 rpm) with a little brake, otherwise you would have to heavily ride the brake ...

Not to make it sound like I'm nagging either :D, any further thoughts on when the remaining cars will get done? As I said, I can do either Saturday and Sunday, whichever would be more suitable for you. I just didn't want to wait until the last minute tomorrow (well, I guess later today now!) to ask ...

Now this is the V6 Mivec engine as in the US spec 2016 Outlander. Apparently 70 percent of Outlanders sold in the US use the V6. It's an older engine now, like the current 4B12. https://carsfeatured.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/2016-Mitsubishi-Outlander-10.jpg I would like to point out the great l...

Not that this is the thread but there is a facelifted CJ for 2016 with new bumper and CVT, some interior changes also but its not much. I agree they should have done much more to keep it current. Considering the 4J engines are are a few years old, they just weren't available outside of Japan. In th...

When the 4B11 got the fuel economy improvements in the 2012 MY13 model (I believe that's when it was), the required transmission fluid for both the 4B11 and 4B12 (which didn't get improved) changed to CVTF-J4. The earlier models require CVTF-J1. The pre-2012 MY13 models still have a fluid recommenda...

Michael and Daniel, let me know if Sunday morning is ok or whatever. Either day is fine for me, so Sunday morning will be okay! What time were you thinking of starting on Sunday? I'm not against an early start! I see your flight is at 3 pm? You'd have to allow probably 50 minutes to get from there ...

Both of those pictures are Ryco filters pictures straight from Ryco. The CT-2392 without that frame can kind of be pushed inside the air filter box, but it does not fit or seal! I know this because I bought that exact filter and learnt the hard way! There is too much gap around the filter where air ...
