Re: NEW LANCER-Eclipse Cross
I checked them out today whilst getting old recalls addressed. Very much like a VRX Sportsback, but very, very muscle-car-esque. The front is huge and brutal, but taken up by those massive wheels hence - I presume - the 1.5L motor. The interior is certainly more suitable for the bigger framed, but I...

Re: Ben's ride thread
Yeah, cool. 8) Trying to avoid that hesitation that a light brings as it drops speed - especially if you don't trust the switch... I'll probably have to get in the habit of hitting set then accelerate once or twice, like you said. Either that, or set it a couple of kms/h higher and let it drop... Re...

Re: Ben's ride thread
Oh, and this morning I got three new pulleys with the new drive belt, and my wand connectors drowned in dielectric grease...!

Re: Ben's ride thread
So confirmed today it's definitely an MY09 - as expected. Sometimes I wish mine was a few years newer with a few extra toys like electric leather seats and parking sensors. I've come from this, so I'm having thoughts of Lee Majors playing Colonel Steve Austin, complete with the voice-overs: "We...

Re: Ralliart / evo bonnet vents on N/A lancer bonnet
They're structurally different and use different materials. This thread is probably worth a read...
Another idea would be to make a faux RA / Evo bonnet, i.e. non-functional, but it would be a lot of work.

Re: Replacement Fuel Filter?
I believe the second pipe on the Z991 is for the fuel return line from the regulator on the fuel rail of turbo models. The Z924 / Pump (NA) assembly includes the regulator and spills back inside the tank and so has no fuel return line to connect. It also includes a fuel gauge sender unit... The Z991...

Re: Replacement Fuel Filter?
I looked at some of the YouTube University tutorials for both filter and pump replacement, and all the ones I looked at were missing the proper safety procedure and spilt fuel everywhere. Also many of them used the wrong sort of line clamps which would have damaged the fuel line(s) (I'd only...

Re: NEW LANCER-Eclipse Cross
I wouldn't be surprised if we do actually see another sedan / hatch "Lancer-like" vehicle with an SUV added to the line up after the current Lancer and Mirage stocks have sold out. They won't announce anything until that happens of course. It's estimated existing stocks will last the year ...

Re: ClubCJ's Future and Potential
Thanks for chiming in again, Troy. I thought it might be of benefit to make a couple of further comments. I hope you don't mind. There are so many great ideas. I have been in this club for almost 10 years. In that time I have seen it grow and then shrink. We have also had issues of finances going mi...

Re: ClubCJ's Future and Potential
Keep Facebook, Instagram and social media out, right out. As far as possible! There are people like me with limited ability to comprehend or have a wish to have anything to do with what we see as invasive media. Lets keep this a car club, not a media club! I think if we integrate social media with ...

Re: ClubCJ's Future and Potential
More great ideas, George. Selling merch would be a great fundraiser and bring awareness like you mentioned. I think a home page front to the club with links to the forums, chat, a store, social media sites, blogs, knowledge tree, etc. would be the way to go. Then you could just link in to these page...

Re: Auto Tensioner Flange Recall
Yeah, that's understandable, Craig. At least IMHO. Perhaps you could share that with MMAL and get some priority attention? Probably need to follow up with a call to 1800 931 811 if they don't get back to you. I'd expect some duck shoving, so I'd get your ducks in a row beforehand by making sur...

Re: Auto Tensioner Flange Recall
They're still waiting for parts and the actual service bulletins. MMAL will trickle out the letters so that the dealerships aren't overwhelmed.

Re: Auto Tensioner Flange Recall
After picking up some parts at the dealer today, I believe this is the recall posted at the ACCC yesterday.
As such I have updated the title.

Re: ClubCJ's Future and Potential
DISCLAIMER: IANAL NOR IS THIS LEGAL ADVICE Wow...! What a thread this one is. Several issues have been identified and some workable solutions offered. It would be great if these could prosper and bear fruit. Troy (aspir3), you are dead right: the club needs better management and a full committee to...
