Re: Maintainance Change To Fully Synthetic Oil. When?
Probably the best way of explaining. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tYkg0oDUXs8 The general consensus is that you should change your oil and filter often and not focus too much on what brand or type of oil providing it meets or exceeds the manufacturers specifications in your handbook. remember thi...

Re: Lost key transponder
Mitsubishi are correct. the transponder chip (the model number is etched on the chip but you need a magnifying glass to read it) itself can be bought for around 20cents from china however it needs to be programmed with your vehicle ignition system. the tools required to program these transponders va...

unsure on the exact connector on the MMCS unit but most GPS antennas are either BNC coax style or RP-SMA. with the majority being the latter.

Re: Lancer v Pulsar, we chose wisely
another annoying this with our temp lcd readout is that it is supposed to hover in the middle with 1 bar deviation when engine warm. if for whatever reason it goes up by 2-3 bars above normal and stays there, you will not know unless you cycle to that screen. missing key information on what could be...

Re: New Member Checking In
Welcome to the club. That little black thing inside the keyfob is the immobilizer transponder. the chip itself can be bought for around 20c from ebay but they need to be coded to your vehicle's ECU, however the tool to do that costs $$$. Cutting the key is only about 30 bucks from a keycutter and re...

Re: Adding value to a Lancer?
nothing really adds value. you can try to slow down lowest depreciation if you have low km's, pristine condition, service history, etc. modifying your car at full retail cost + labor and you will never see that money back. and depending on what you do you may even restrict your ability to sell to al...

Re: Saying hello - Coolant problem
if your car is under warranty they should be investigating and repairing under that. can you find any leaks? otherwise just top if off when at a cool temperature to the recommended mark as per the book and watch it over a couple of days\weeks\months whatever is appropriate. if it keeps going down it...

Re: Wanted Console
the A\C climate controls which lists the temperature instead of just cold->warm graphics is actually a separate part. In order to get the temperature working accurately you will also need a solar sensor which sits in a slot facing the sun in the middle of the dash where the dash meets the windscreen...

Re: [Help] Do I need CVT Service?
i can hear that very low end sound but it is difficult to put my finger on what it could be. it may be worthwhile to check easy things like the airbox being clipped in and seated correctly. it can be a pain and when not seated correctly can allow for air to bypass the filter creating a loud low end ...

Re: [Help] Do I need CVT Service?
also check your CVT fluid and engine oil levels.
the CVT fluid must be checked while the engine is running and in neutral (please have the hand brake on )
for engine oil please have the engine turned off! and preferably cold.
