Re: Regular oil changes

I'm guilty of 12 month service, but in my defence its what the dealer has said the CJ has to have. Yes I know it depends on a bunch of things and last service was early because I'd done the 15k with the road trip. Without looking it up I have no idea the oil the Mitsy dealer uses. Maybe its their di...

Re: Regular oil changes

Did it ever have a regular service after it was out of warranty?

When I took the top of my old CC it looked like new inside, despite having a blown head casket, luckily the oil and water had not mixed. But this is just bad.

Can we ask why it was in, what did the owner say was happening?

Re: Help buying Ralliart

So the ideal RA to get is MY11 or better, got it.

The cheapest EVO still cost about double a cheap RA I've seen.

Re: Help buying Ralliart

Yeah I read the list also, for future reference. My biggest issues is you can't tow even a small trailer with the Ralliart, that sucks. Maybe I need to save up for an EVO X with a 'proper' manual transmission :) As for warming up in my VRX I usually start then almost right away slowly pull out of th...

Re: Help buying Ralliart

I'm not an expert on the RA but from what I've seen here the later models were better. As for warming up, in general its not the speed to do but the time. I don't mean its okay to do a cold start and immediately thrash it or get up to HWY speeds. But most people live in areas where they have lower s...

Re: Help buying Ralliart

Don't think its a case of being unreliable as such, but depending on the previous owner, service history and such. If it was a little old lady who drove it occasionally to the shops then okay. As long as it had time to warm up, frequent short trips can be a car killer, especially a turbo. But if it ...

Re: Is this legal - 4th brake light?

I prefer to wire it up to the fog lights, so they are only used when needed, aka fog but for photographs I can still turn them on. So the question is do I need to run a wire from the very front of the car or is there a fuse/wire under the dash I can tap into which is only powered when the fog lights...

Re: Help buying Ralliart

$13k for a RA seems a bit cheap, even for an early one. I'd get it checked but RACQ or someone if its not covered by some dealer warranty. Maybe bank on spending a little more for something newer or from a dealer? You just never know, it could be a good car and last years without issue, but you coul...

Re: Pollen Filter Replacement

Yeah mine took a while but I wasn't in a rush so no big deal. I think the some one from an AU address cost about twice the price but only takes a week to get delivered. I'd rater order 2 and wait longer, didn't do that this time but I might in the future.

Re: Pollen Filter Replacement

Only changed mine a few weeks ago, got mine on eBay, according to the description its 'Non-Woven Fiber & Activated Charcoal' for less than $8. For that price you could change it every year. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Cabin-Air-Filter-Fit-Mitsubishi-Lancer-Outlander-Nissan-Altima-Infiniti-FX35/1...

Re: Pollen Filter Replacement

Might be the some reason here. Especially in summer, why draw in hot air to cool it down?

I have noticed why I change some setting on my Climate Control AC it goes back to drawing air in from outside and I need to push the button to get the recirculate back on.

Re: looking at buying

I still don't get this belief if its a daily drive in traffic then get an auto, why compromise your ride unless you can't drive a manual? I've driven in traffic load of times (not every day) and have no issues with my manual CJ. When I get to a long light I drop it out of gear, put the hand brake on...

Re: Pollen Filter Replacement

OMG and I thought mine was dirty and it only had bit of dust/fluff on it.

Proves some dealers are crap!
But where the hell do they park the car if its sucking in this crap?
Still better then getting in the fan or cabin.
