Re: Help with loud injectors.

You have a few options 1 have the injectors removed cleaned and tested or 2 replace them with new ones. They usually get noisey if they have a restriction in them. It is unusual for them to be so noisey. I've never come across this in a Lancer before. How many K's has it done and has the in tank fuel ...

Re: Help with loud injectors.

Are you sure it's noisey injectors? Try unplugging one while it is running and see if the noise changes.

Re: Pollen Filter Replacement

Forgot to mention it was from a 2 year old Subaru that has been serviced by the dealer since new. Customer brought it in complaining that the A/C wasn’t working very well. Dealer workshop had looked at it prior to us and couldn’t find anything wrong !!

Re: A/C compressor worth replacing?

The clicking noise would be the clutch engaging and disengaging which is quite normal. If it is clicking constantly it would be worth seeing an aircon specialist to check it out.

Re: Is this legal - 4th brake light?

The sports wagon has a fog light back there, bumper mounted, the same shape as the Pajero. As for the sedan having the wiring I'm not sure. There is a thread around here about one of the lads hooking up the fog in his sports wagon and the circus involved. Yes there is wiring there in the Sportback ...

Re: Lost!!

Big job! It’s not the sort of job you would want to attempt at home unless you have the right gear. Not trying to be critical but you don’t sound as if you have any idea what is involved. You can buy a workshop manual on CD from eBay. Maybe get one and have a read through it.

Re: When will I need new Brake Pads?

The OEM pads seem to last a long time 80 to 90k is what we are seeing on customers cars. My wife’s VRX has 70k on it and there is about 2mm of wear. I’d say we’ll get 100k out of them.
I would think the dealer would use genuine pads so it fits in with their parts/repair warranty

Re: When will I need new Brake Pads?

You can machine slotted rotors. It is a very time consuming job as it takes about 5 or 6 passes on the brake lathe. A standard rotor you can do on one pass if it isn’t warped too much

Re: When will I need new Brake Pads?

Probably 3 months. You should be able to see the edge of the pad through the spokes of the wheel. The wear on the inner pad will be about the same as the outer pad.

Re: When will I need new Brake Pads?

General rule of thumb is when the friction material is the same thickness as the backing plate it's time to replace them. Just touching on brake pads,Bosch and TRW pads are basically dust generators.SCA cheaper pads are garbage.Bedix pads are the best value for money, not very dusty, quiet and long we...
