Re: Auto Tensioner Flange Recall

They probably don't have to but a polite but firm "Could you please check with the mechanic to see what state mine was in etc" usually works. I initially got the story that no replacement was needed until I asked him to check, given I'd had some recent belt slip noise. He came back with &q...

Re: Auto Tensioner Flange Recall

Folks, I took my VH Outlander in for the belt tensioner inspection this morning; prompted by recent belt slippage during engine start and on hard steering whilst parking. Not a moment too soon as shown by the attached photo. The tensioner was already severely cracked. My CJ Lancer will be booked in ...

Re: Draining coolant and refilling in CJ 2.0 litre

Might be a silly question but opening the drain plug whilst hot and under pressure would seem problematic. Did you wait for it to cool somewhat or take some special precautions? Without knowing the interior of the engine, if the drain plug is at the lowest point of the cooling system, I would expect...

Re: Mitsubishi recalls 500,000 cars in AU

Sarusa, the buzzing is very much restricted to a range of revs around 2300. Much above this it disappears. Hence the thought that it is a component at resonant frequency.

Re: Mitsubishi recalls 500,000 cars in AU

My steering column rattle is resolved. Mea culpa. The garage door controller clipped to the plastic panel just below the steering column was the cause. Noting the comments about rattles at certain revs, I still have a very specific buzzing at about 2300rpm (separate to the issue above) which occurs ...

Re: Mitsubishi recalls 500,000 cars in AU

Took my 2011 CJ sedan in on 11/7/16 for the turn signal recall and had the grease application. A few weeks later, the lights flickered out a couple of times over several days. A return visit on 19/8/16 resulted in a new indicator stalk following the discovery of an "internal short in the indica...

Re: Hello Guys, Have a rattle in my dashboard

Yes thanks. Mitsubishi supplied them free of charge as the car is still under warranty. I should have, but did not get the part number, so it would be worth listing for reference if you have it.
BTW, on the posts whereyour clips were missing, were the slots missing?

Re: Hello Guys, Have a rattle in my dashboard

Guys, I've a 20111 manual CJ sedan and have what I would describe as a resonant buzzing at revs between 2000 and 2500 rpm. It appears to be independent of gear. Suspect causes have been the heat shields in the engine bay (over the manifold and against the firewall) and the dash, but to date I have n...
