Re: 2008 Lancer CJ VRX - Build thread

They usually just turn off the rear o2. It only reads values to see if it is functioning correctly in a stock form. Once you place a high flow item there the o2 sensor sees different values. By turning the rear o2 off doesn't affect the car if tuned at the same time.

Re: 2008 Lancer CJ VRX - Build thread

If you put on a cat back exhaust you won't get CEL codes Mind you Cat back is a waste of time and $ anyhow and most definitely not worth it https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/352830061370 Drop one of these on the rear O2 sensor and that will take care of any CEL With your vast tuning ideas why not turn th...

Re: HELP with scuffs and scratches???

Did you buy your car recently from a car yard? If you did then it's quite likely the scratches and blemishes were most likely treated with polishes that contained fillers. These typically wash out and scratches appear quite quickly.

Re: HELP with scuffs and scratches???

If you want to get the light scratches out maybe get a better compound than what you can get from auto parts shops. They are for amateurs and aimed not to be too aggressive. You have to be careful with Mitsubishi paints as they are pretty soft and thin paints. Try SCHOLL CONCEPTS S3GOLD XXL from a c...

Re: Are K&N filters really worth it??

I have run K & N filters on a few cars for years and had zero issues. When fitted to the Evo X and placed on the dyno with my exhaust it gained 25-30kw over stock without a tune. All I noticed from the stock filter to the K&N, was the total filter area was smaller on the stock one compared t...

Re: Are K&N filters really worth it??

K & N are really cheap on Ebay from a seller called Rolan Australia. I have recently ordered 1 x K&N for my Peugeot 207 Diesel and 2 x Washable cabin filters (1 x Evo X and 1 x Peugeot) They had a promo running at the time where I saved $50+ on top of the prices on there. I think this coupon...

Re: Stock HU and Steering Wheel Controls

I know the wire you are talking about in relation to the Kenwood stereo allowing you to make use of the steering wheel controls without another box. You have to also setup each individual button and pair it. I had a unit similar in my wife's car but not having the car anymore I cant even go and hav...

Re: Stock HU and Steering Wheel Controls

Who cares how ugly the plug looks There's tons of space behind the dash to hide it all Not.like it's hanging from the mirror or anything to see it all Well when I learnt to install car stereos and car alarms almost 20 years ago at a car sound place it was how I was taught to do it, There may be a l...

Re: Evo X 130000kms

Sounds like a damn nice car Still running the original battery is almost unheard of. However when it does die replace it with an "optima" battery I got over 8 years out of standard battery, the only reason it died was because I hardly was driving the car. The main reason I think it didn't...
