Re: Brake Rotor/Pads Recommendations?

$200 a tyre isn't expensive, and you're right about the cost per week with a known mileage. It's probably better to consider cost per 100 km though. It's important to consider if looking at cheaper tyres if you don't care so much about consistency, wet preformance, braking distance etc, this cost is...

Re: Brake Rotor/Pads Recommendations?

Yeah that’s true; I’m still researching won’t change them for a while if not I’ll end up selling the car with them on still. Just slightly annoyed I cheaped out in tires as these achillies understeer and their wet grip is rubbish That's not surprising. I'd be very wary of all these cheap imported b...

Re: Have you ever lost a brake pad?

Yes, the price is very suspect! I missed they were in the NL, so it would be in US dollars. Even when all other factors included, the US$14 should ring alarm bells. That said, it's not impossible! Just hope for the OP that it hasn't done other damage.

Re: Have you ever lost a brake pad?

$3.50 a pad isn't much. That's $3.18 without GST. If you bought it online and it included postage... You don't have to get the dearest pads, but quality isn't something that should be compromised to save a few dollars. I guess you were considering they were the rear pads, and the front brakes do mos...

Re: What DONT you like about your Lancer?

Big spoilers aren't necessarily as effective as smaller, more aesthetic spoilers. They're also a source of wind resistance. Spoilers on front wheel drive cars isn't the best concept either, unless it is matched with splitters at the front. I can understand why you're looking for something more pract...

Re: How to kill a 4B11 engine

Apparently it's 2.0 L which would make it the 4J11. Even these are fairly old now.

Re: How to kill a 4B11 engine

The 4B11 engine looks to be used in the 2020 ASX, which is such a major update is basically a new car apart from the driveteain. Maybe it uses a 4J11?

The part number would be a good indication when they changed the faulty part, assuming that it was changed of course.

Re: Brand new evo x complete engine 4b11

Almost all people on here are Australian and is an Australian site, shipping would be expensive and impractical. Of course international members are welcome, it's just a consideration for sale stuff. It's a lot of money to send to a junior member overseas with no security regarding payment.

Re: Quiet tyres

I know, but if the lining ever gets damaged... Like my front left lining for smashed by a bird a couple of years ago. In any case, it's unfortunate they went to cost saving and weight reduction over comfort. Properly sound deadened, modernised, direct injection equivalent of the 4J12, I'm sure they'...

Re: Quiet tyres

If you look inside the wheel arch at the rear side, there is a thin bit of liner around the whole arch. This covers up a 'huge' cavity that extends up into the windscreen pillar. I think a lot of the noise at the front of the car comes from here, as the cavity would amplify the sound? Not sure on th...

Yes, air conditioning service is separate. Like I said earlier, it's essential a suitable (NOT alternative) gas is used.

Re: Quiet tyres

I'd look at the Michelin Primacy 4 tyres, which replace the older Primacy 3 versions. In that size there's not much price difference between that and the XM2, which are older but great tyres. The XM2 may give fractionally better fuel economy as they belong to the fuel conserving class of tyres. Up t...

Re: Ralliart P0365 CEL

Info varies slightly depending on where you look and the type of battery, but generally should be about 12.6 V or above. A fully charged lead acid battery is more like 13.2 V or something. If you're getting down to 12 V it's considerably discharged. You don't need to disconnect the battery to charge...
