Under 80 kph is more efficient with windows down, air con off. Over 80 kph, windows up and fan, and even air con on it's better than windows down on the highway due to aerodynamic drag.
Air con efficiency is a big thing. Not sure if insulating the cold return pipes helps or not.

Re: New DRL headlights, need help ASAP
They were looking at making it compulsory to have the lights on during the day, at least for rural highway driving. Although it's not law, it's not a bad idea especially with darker colours or those that blend in with the countryside or sky. I doubt you got fined for driving with your foglights on, ...

Re: Paint damage while reversing out of driveway
Little scrapes and bumps happen though, particularly on a bumper.

Re: Paint damage while reversing out of driveway
More along the lines of what I thought it would be. TBH it's not worth it, better to fix it yourself. At least that way you already have the stuff for the next mark or scuff. What does $350 get you? 1. A K&N air filter, RA snorkel, header and pipe wrapped 2. 3/4 of a 4-2-1 extractor, or a 4-1 st...

$100 is not as much as I thought it would be.

Re: Paint damage while reversing out of driveway
I wonder if they ever get non-paint related enquiries?... That doesn't look too bad, I thought it was going to be a lot worse. At least you didn't have your front bumper ripped off in a carpark like I did. I reckon someone misjudged the turn, caught the front lip, and the bastard/b!tch just kept dri...

Re: New DRL headlights, need help ASAP
Have you tried disconnecting the battery for half an hour to reset things? Keeping in mind the computer will need to retune itself for optimum performance. A quick Google search has other people with Lancers come up with the same issue, seems to be related to everything apart from ASC (Active Stabil...

Re: New CJ/CF safety recall
Wonder what changed between the affected cars and those that came before and after them? Just different batches of the same relays, or different relays used?

That $170 is on special, the $151 was a bonus discount.

Re: EGR valve discussion
The EGR stuck open shouldn't make the injectors noisy, or at least it didn't for me. When the car started at idle it actually sounded really cool, sort of a cross between an oldschool big block V8 and a rotary. I had a different exhaust then though. The engine basically took no load, it would stall....

Re: Fuse Box
Makes sense Mitsubishi having none in the country. There's a part number as it comes with the car, but they're super generic. It would be like ordering H1 or H4 headlight bulbs using the part number from Mitsubishi, although they probably do have those in stock since you go through more of them. Kee...

Re: EGR valve discussion
When my EGR valve got stuck open pretty much nobody knew what it was, even Mitsubishi took a week finding the issue. The young mechanics were relying on the fault codes, which basically all got triggered. It was right before Christmas, so after pestering them the head guy he said he'll look at it an...

I'm happy to be a test bunny as well! Was it ever worked out which Lancers actually have EGR valves?
