Re: VIC - Spotted Thread

I'm trying... There are plenty of CJs out there, but no-one seems to be playing 'Spotto' these days. Haven't seen a few usual suspects around my area, either. Just realised that my last post is wrong, too. It was EastLink I saw the guy on. Kind of funny, too, when I saw that guy. I zoomed past him a...

Re: VIC - Spotted Thread

Time to resurrect the thread, even if it's just me talking to myself...

Saturday afternoon heading north (towards the city) on CityLink - a silver/grey sedan with SA plates, loud pipe, those mini-sharks-teeth things across the top of the back window.

Re: NO LONGER WANTED: Borrow stock muffler for '09 VRX

Quick update - had the EPA noise test last week. Maximum allowed noise for a Lancer is 90dB. Loudest exhaust sound during the test was 86dB (on the over-run as the RPMs came down from 4500), 84dB everywhere else in the rev-range. Standing around as they ran the test, there was more noise coming from...

Re: NO LONGER WANTED: Borrow stock muffler for '09 VRX

Yeah, some cop sitting in their car with nothing better to do. The EPA letter says "deemed to vehicle to be excessively loud". Meaning it's an opinion, rather than a "pull him over and listen to it before making a decision". I'd say they weren't hitting their quota for the month ...

NO LONGER WANTED: Borrow stock muffler for '09 VRX

Hey all, I decided it was going to be too much messing around trying to borrow a muffler, get it fitted and then removed after the EPA test, so went down to the local muffler shop today. Talked to the guy for a while, and it's going to cost me $250 for something that is quieter (and hopefully keeps ...

Re: Web Site Hosts

Good move - you can keep the domain name for as long as you want (barring the renewal of the registration) and pick up a cheap(er) hosting service later. Depending on how nerd-tech you are, you might be able to get free hosting through github. Have a look at the Jekyll home page for more info. (Jeky...

Haha! Darryl is the master of understatement. "Lots of money" is being very polite about it.

Nice work. As Mars said, it's good to hear everything went (mostly) smoothly and you're back on the road again.

That, and the Hunwick Hallam V-Twin. I wish they'd both managed to make it into some sort of production run, rather than (effectively) being prototypes that didn't go very far.

Re: Rear strut bar CJ LANCER

Why not go for the lower bar that mounts under the car? Then you don't have anything messing up your boot.
