Re: CH Wagon Trailer?

Hey my wheel barrow wheels! I don't mind a bit of DIY, but the canvas can cost a fortune to repair or replace. Outside a teardrop design, which has its pros and cons I like this style of fold out camper! http://www.universal-upholstery.com.au/gallery/caravans-motorhomes/caravans/img008-foldout-campe...

Re: Bonnet Warning Light

Mine looks like that. This is the one you need part number 5908A009 for LHD, RHD has a different part number 5908A010. https://static.amayama.com/amayama/1494391574873_big.jpg Annoying you only really need the wire park which appears to fit the other latch, I'm gonna check with some wreckers this we...

Re: CH Wagon Trailer?

I'd actually be looking at shorter trips but where I want/need to camp and in the warmer months. Hate camping in winter. One of those foldout camper trailers are ideal for that. Its a step above just having a tent and lets face it a decent size tent is seriously gonna compromise your luggage space i...

Re: CH Wagon Trailer?

Personally I'd rather travel lite and use parks/motels along the way but some times its easier to BYO.

Re: Bonnet Warning Light

I know this hasn't been used in a while but found some info I thought I'd share.

Found this website with info on how to do this and it looks easy.

Not sure if it is as simple as getting the switch and wiring it up, thoughts?

Re: CH Wagon Trailer?

Yeah that is an issue. On the plus side its better to have the axle near the back, but yes they then puts more weight in the tow ball. Basically I want a small light camper for the occasional trip, was thinking something like the teardrop ones but they can be really expensive. The other option is a ...

Re: CH Wagon Trailer?

I'd still need to find the right wagon, a CH would be ideal.

And this is just an idea so not gone into costs from a wrecker plus the logistics of getting it home and then working on it.

Re: CH Wagon Trailer?

Yeah I thought it could be on the heavy side, pity my Lancer is limited to 1000kg. I was told newer CJs and CFs have a slightly higher capacity, maybe 1300kg?

Still think with the right setup it would look cool.

Re: CH Wagon Trailer?

Hey it was just a thought, might still work with the right chassis. But if anyone knows what it would weigh please chime in.

Re: CH Wagon Trailer?

So just out of interest how much would the back of a CH wagon weigh, without everything in front of the A pillars? Also minus the seats and dash. I'm thinking its at least half the weight so north of 500kg, maybe 600-700?

Re: New to the group and have a questions about an engine swap

The are several threads here to help with ABS issues, others might be able to help with the links if you can't find them. There are repair options which cost way less than a new part. As for the engine its best left to the professionals with a decent workshop and money to spend of making sure big th...

Re: CH Wagon Trailer?

Yeah like that BUT the big issue could be weight, even lopping the engine off the front it would still weigh at least 500kg (if not a lot more), even with the seats stripped out. With a 1000kg tow limit on the CJ it could be touch and go to be under that loaded as a 'cool' camper. Maybe something sm...
