Re: Is the CJ still a safe car?

Thanks for the link.

Debatable, if the CJ/CF was tested under the current rules without autonomous braking it would do 4 stars at best.

Re: CVT is sh*t

Thats why I like a proper manual, the only ECU controlling the gear changes is between my ears :)

Re: Is the CJ still a safe car?

RACQ 2018 update So they updated the list but weirdly the CJ is missing, the CH is there and so if the Mirage. https://www.racq.com.au/cars-and-driving/cars/buying-a-car/used-car-safety-ratings#tab-phracq_body_1_phracq_contentcontainer_0_phracq_tabs_containere1da8b3fe91f455d8c809d42aa8824a1_0_divTa...

Got the dash cams wired up to be on 24/7, now when I park it will go into parking mode until it detects movement or is shocked.

Re: Replacing stock Snorkel with RA

Yes
Not an oil soaked airfilter

Try eBay, GumTree and wreckers for them.

Also there is plenty of info on this topic already posted, do a search for it. :)

And welcome to the forum.

Re: Louder horn for CJ?

One of my first mods was a couple of Hella's... maybe not as loud as an air horn but still a step above the stock horns.

And they look great!

Re: 2015 Side Mirror Markers fit on older model?

Thanks for the great reply. Just wondering if the relay is needed for manual power fold? Meaning you put in the mirrors and switch and power fold is just via the button and not when you lock the car. Like I said got an auto electrician coming this week to install the battery saver for my dash cams s...

Re: New to the group and have a questions about an engine swap

And to keep it legal if you shove a turbo on you need to do shove the bigger brakes on also If you have deep pockets go nuts Save yourself a lot of time and energy and get a RA or Evo X instead and modify it The Mighty Car Mods guys would highly disagree with you LOL But I tend to agree, for the av...

Re: New Power Folding Mirrors for early CJ

I think the plugs are the same, but on ones like mine they only use 5 wires along one row, with indicators and power fold they use 2 more wires. I have an electrician doing some work on the car next week, will ask him if he has experience with this kind of mod. Like I said its hard to find these mir...

New Power Folding Mirrors for early CJ

So I posted this on another thread and got zero answers. First I'm looking at mods and one thing I've wanted to do for a while is add power folding mirrors to my 09 VRX, possibly with indicators. With this kind of upgrade is it a plug in solution or more too it. Yes I know I'd need a different contr...

Re: VRX wheels on an ES Lancer

I've found using 225/40R18 on my VRX the speedo is about 5% out, meaning while it says 100kph you'll be doing about 95kph. A nice margin so you shouldn't get any speeding fines if you follow the speedo reading. If you have GPS then you can use it on the HWY to get closed to the real speed or just di...

Re: Help needed!: ASC "Service Required" Error

Right now I wouldn't mind a hybrid Nissan/Renault/Mitsubishi Lancer sharing the underpinnings of another car as long as its modern, has its own look and full of the latest tech which is missing from the Lancer because its basically dead now. I now some parts of the Lancer (and other Mitsubishi's) sh...

Re: Which service should I get?

So just checked the cabin/pollen filter and while dirty it wasn't bad. I wrote the date on the front, put it in almost 3 years ago, Dec 2015. Forced the fins apart to vacuum out the fluff/dust but will get another in the coming weeks.

Is there any difference between the $10 or $30 ones on eBay?
