Re: Brake Rotor/Pads Recommendations?

I don't consider $200 per tyre expensive, even paying full price and not getting a 4th one free. Most will last at least 2 years, maybe 3. So at 2 years thats about $8 a week for the set, that not much when we are paying over $1.50Lt for fuel at the top of the cycle. My RE003s on sale cost me about ...

Re: When will I need new Brake Pads?

Saving up, brakes still good and quiet, only noise is after I wash the car at the end of the day at home and the brakes have a little bit of surface rust the next morning. Goes after 1-2 uses of the brakes.

Re: Have you ever lost a brake pad?

Pretty cheap pads, I've been pricing them and looking at paying $150-$200 or more for the set of 4.

Re: VRX wheels on an ES Lancer

Good find $170 for a set (4 I assume) normally they cost about that each!

For most of us I think depending on the tyre you'll have more than enough grip around corners in the dry.

Re: What DONT you like about your Lancer?

Thats an easy fix, some 18" rims with 215/45 or 225/40 rubber, total cost from about $1.5k :) The spoiler comes in super handy at night if you line the car behind you up just right it blocks their headlights  Yes but on the same hand its annoying when you're trying to work out what is behi...

Re: What DONT you like about your Lancer?

The spoiler on the VRX is very thick, which is the big issue when it comes to vision out the back. Plus the hight pretty much in the middle of the rear window. Thats why I like the the duckbill, less obtrusive than the VRX wing. On most production cars like the CJ wings are neutral and there for vis...

Re: What DONT you like about your Lancer?

Time to revive this thread! One thing I find annoying with my VRX is the big rear spoiler. Often it blocks me from seeing cars at certain distances. Anyone else swapped the VRX wing for something else like a higher EVO style one or a duckbill? https://www.ssv.com.au/assets/full/2500.jpg https://i2.w...

So 5k a month you'd want a service at least every 3 months.

New (used) engine, expensive mistake!

I'm assuming not having it serviced for 40k km voided the warranty?

Re: Windscreen washer pump dead?

Thanks

I found it a bit tight to get to the pump off the tank, but in the end had too as I could not unhook the power lead. Only removed the tank to check for leaks, and clean it. Much easier to do once off the car.

Might top up the tank right now an see if there is a puddle in the morning LOL

Re: Checks prior to a long drive

Did a 10,000 km trip back in May/June which included crossing the Nullarbor, it was winter so kinder for the car than the 40plus temps some part of the country is having now. I did most of the things here, was considering a drive belt but the only advantage there is if you know how to fit it, but it...
